How is it possible that DH's Topic

Of course playing the field takes more out of you.  But to pretend DHing is like sitting on the couch while eating Klondike bars is stupid.

Maybe we need to give this one more time to get some legs.
It's working!

I knew, given time, that this could get dumber.

I don't think anyone said that.  But when was the last time you remember a DH resting because he was tired?

Maybe once or twice per year, tops.  I think we can agree that it happens significantly more in HD.

You two are just soooo cute together!

Look up Rocco Baldelli and get back to me.

This is really simple.  The player's stamina is 65.   He can't play 150 games at 100% under any circumstances.    Stamina is a tool HBD uses to force owners to utilize a full 25 man roster.   It's the game.   Don't like the fact that 65 stamina players can't play 150 games, don't sign 65 stamina players.

Rocco Baldelli gets injured like every third day.  It has nothing to do with his ability to garner up enough stamina to DH.

I understand the purpose, but I don't think it would be that hard to write in to the code that when someone DHs, the fatiguing process is slowed more than it is currently.

You didn't look him up, did you?

The fatigue process is slower for a DH.

My DH has a guy run for every at bat.  He just swings and watches the speedy guy fly around the base paths.

Baldelli?  I don't know what makes you think I need to look him up.  He hasn't played a full season in like seven years, mostly because of injuries.  When do you think he was DHing and sitting because he was tired?

Yes, it's slower.  But my (and the OP's) point is that it shouldn't force a player to sit more than a couple of times.  It does.  The fatigue process' purpose isn't served any better by forcing a full-time DH to sit for multiple games when that just doesn't happen in real life.

Just looked Baldelli up.  Never had more than 69 plate appearances in any season as a DH.  I don't think he's a particularly good example for you.

No, you didn't look up Baldelli.   Look up his medical condition.

But, since I'm sure you won't bother because you "know" what you need to know, let's put it another way.   One guy is Carl Crawford.  The other guy is David Ortiz.   Over the course of 6 months, do you really believe they would feel the same if both only did DH things?

BTW, you aren't "forced" sit a player because he's at 95%.   Play him all you want.

Until you realize that DHs don't sit in real life like they do in HBD, and that no purpose is furthered by forcing a full-time DH to sit more often in HBD than in real life.

I get why stamina is important, although I don't think it's implemented particularly well.  But for one particular position - DH - it would make sense to scale back fatigue when a position player plays it to match real life.
