So I did something stupid and trying to figure out if there is any way to fix it.

Had a guy on my playoff roster that was assigned to pitch the deciding game.  Wanted to instead use a better pitcher but it was bumped to him because the guy next up (that I wanted to use) wasn't at 100% and I hadn't lowered his setting.  I know that I SHOULD have done is just change his settings so he got pulled quick, but I didn't.  Not really fully thinking about the consequences, I designated him for assignment.  Problem solved since now I had the guy I wanted pitching.  Now what to do with this guy.  I couldn't reassign him to my major league team or to a minor league team until he went through waivers.  Crossing my fingers that no one was paying attention, I waived him (with automatic revoke).  Of course someone claimed him, but the waiver was automatically revoked.  So now, I have this guy unassigned.  I can't assign him anywhere since he didn't clear waivers.  The guy who claimed him won't trade for him.  I can't trade him to anyone else.  So, I guess the only thing I can do it cut him?  That really sucks.   And if I don't do anythign at all, he will get cut automatically in the off season, right?

Live and learn I guess.

Waive him again?

My thinking: You can't waive someone who has passed through waivers, but I don't know if you can waive them again if they're claimed......?

It would be pretty stupid if you could, because then you could just keep waiving him over and over until the team you wanted to claim him did.

Why don't you send a bench player with minor league options to the minors. Thus creating a space for him?

Yes, just assign him back to your ML team.

Won't let me waive him again.  Can't assign him, can't rewaive him, can't trade him unless its to the person who claimed him (who won't).  So only option appears to be cut him or let him sit unassigned until season is over, in which case he will automatically be cut (I think).  Like I said, I'm screwed....

Can't because he didn't "clear" waiver.

The problem is that I "designated him for assignment" instead of leaving him on the team and just "waiving" him.  Thus he is in no mans land now and stuck there.

How many days has it been?  I wonder if the system will try automatically waiving after day seven.

Only 1 day since he failed to clear waivers and was claimed (with waivers auto revoked).  I will be interested to see what happens, since as it stands now I'm not going to do anything with him (since I can't and I'm not going to cut him).  Since I can't put him on waivers again, I doubt that the system will do it after 7 days...

Currently in second round of playoffs.  I will report back for those who care.

Send in a ticket and ask what you can do with him.

How many players do you have on your major league and AAA teams?

Take one of your AAA playersand make him inactive this should make a spot for him if you had 25 players before.
