Player A gave me the "going to test the FA waters" so he would not sign an extension with me last season.

The world just completed rollover (but we are still filling the last couple of vacancies).  Player A is now showing "Let's be honest, I'll play for whoever shows me the money" and has a year/$ contract demand.

Does that mean I will definitely be able to sign him at that year/$ demand during the "avoid FA" resigning period?  Or could he still refuse to sign?

I have looked at the FAQ and previous threads and believe that the answer is "the message currently showing won't change and yes, he will definitely resign with me during the avoidFA/resign period before hitting the open market" but am not sure.  I have several players fall into this category this preseason, and it will make a significant impact on how I set my budget.  Thanks for the help.

He may re-sign.  Or he may hit you with the "Unless you blow me away with a great offer".    If that happens, you might be able to sign him for more than he's asking.

So the message that is currently showing after rollover could change between the world filling and the avoid FA period?  I guess I am not out of the woods yet then.

Correct.  And your National Championship is tainted.  So it's a bad day all around for you!!!

Thanks vic...now you've gone and made me start pulling for Shucky in the Riley WS.  Besides, you had so much fun missing the WIB playoffs last season, I figured I'd try it in Riley.
