run away screaming from Martin, those last 2 pitches are just plain evil!  Id be happy to put my team up against that joker any day of the week, and twice on sunday.

Huh?? At a glance here's a reasonable comp I came up with Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Santos Diaz. I think the GB rating on your guy makes him better. Assuming you have a decent defense, I would peg Martin as career ERA 3.75 - 4 in a neutral park.

Look at what the guy did past 2 seasons playing for KC - whose defense isn't as good as yours and whose park is a bit more friendly to offense than yours.

Martins 2 last pitches are way worse then the guy you came up with.  And your guy has 2 good pitches whereas Martin only has 1.  Also your guy has 86 health to Martins 57.
And lets not forget that the OP is considering on giving up a top notch C with top def and top offense.  Im recommending to not trade for Martin bottom line, and I stand by my statement that Id light this P up with my club.

Well you just got shut out by this guy - Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Geraldo Oliva who isn't as good as Martin. Unless by lighting him up you meant putting him in the night's highlight reels.

For the record: Martin's P's - 81/65/63/38/23, Diaz 72/77/52/42/36. That difference is not "way worse". Martin's 1st and 3rd best pitchers are better than Diaz's - and carry more weight. You think I'm wrong, fine, show me your comp.

The C he's talking about dealing averages 103 RC over past 3 seasons and costs $6M/yr (don't forget he already has another very good catcher).
In exchange for Post - who is capable of 225 IP with a 4.25 RA and Martin - who is good for 4.00 ERA and 175 IP - at a combined cost of $720k. So you should also add to the equation whatever FA upgrade he can get for $5M.

I can see a team wanting either side of that trade due to their own needs but to say it's lopsided is pretty simplistic.

And here's another comp from the same world - Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Johnny Carson, CLEARLY inferior ratings yet has a 4.32 career ERA.

wow, I cant believe that Carson's numbers are that good!  This must be a very weak offensively world.  Because Im telling you in Yas he would be lit up if he was in the AL.  Not so much in the NL though.

BTW just for interest sake Oliva is in OKC, the only really heavily pitching friendly park in the AL.  Martin would even do somewhat ok in OKC.  And the OKC franchise is amongst the top 3 or 4 in our world, and has been for as long as I can remember.

Without spending 2 hours researching this world it seems to me that offense is at a premium there so Id say keeping the C is even more important.  Having an average at best SP in this world over a clearly above average C isnt the right thing to do in my opinion.

Thanks for all the advice so far, guys.  Still working on a possible deal but nothing is set in stone.
If the deal was Post and this guy Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Randall Martin would you make the deal?

I know giving up a hitter like Jackson may be nuts to some of you but I'm looking for some young pitching and Jackson is the best chip I have to deal.
I would not do the deal for this pitcher.  He is ok, but his health would seal it for me.

I wouldn't trade away that catcher at gunpoint.  Catchers who can actually meet (or nearly meet) the recommended defensive ratings and bat cleanup are very hard to find.  Unless I'm getting Cy Young value in return, I'm not shipping that dude.

Exactly.

Potential  Top 3 "All-Time" C > #4-#5 SP
