You don't have to.  It's a personal choice.

i think hbd has been fun.. Not sure why people are all ****** off over a $10 credit..
Because some people think they "deserve" more.   If the game had sucked, people would have quit.   They didn't.   Personally, I think saying "We've been ignoring you" was a poor PR play and passing out $10 credits was unnecessary.   Just get back to work and keep your mouth shut.   The people who were ******/leaving/left have already made a decision and an apology/$10 credit won't(or shouldn't) bring them back.  The rest are still here because they enjoyed the game.

Am I the only one who though it had kind of an Enron feeling, they tell use everything is fine and going to get better and then boom they take our money, shut down the site and off to Bora Bora for some Mai Tai's.  I've enjoyed the game and still do and I hope this doesn't happen.

I think Mike may be mostly right here.

I was on the fence, have been for a while. I've been cutting back (I used to have an absurd amount of teams at once....like 10) and really was not enjoying the severly flawed (and now admittedly ignored) product. It was one thing when there was an effort put forth by the company to improve the product. That they admit they let it go for a year raises many, many concerns. When will they do it again? How will YOUR world be affected? Why pay $24.95 every few months when one can put that down ONCE, and play OOTP as much as they want, customized to their liking, in as many leagues as they want, with as many players as they want, against as many teams as they want, using old/new/real/fake players....etc.

Idiotic move to ignore the game, even worse to admit it and think $10 fixes a year of major problems. Those of you who experienced some of the worst of the worst, why you hang around is beyond me. You have enough negativity towards the product to carry on in the fashion you do and displayed as much in the forums, now is a good time to put that money where thy mouth is. Show them loyalty is a two way street. Take your business to a company that truly appreciates and deserves it. Not one that takes advantage of the fact that you're all playing into their hands like suckers, paying out top-dollar for a mediocre (at best) and declining product in which the owner/parent company as no problem telling you:

"Yep, we ignored the game and most of the major complaints majorly affecting things for about a year now. In the interim, we also knowingly blocked you out with some of the crappiest "Customer Service" reps in the history of Customer Service. Obviously, them belittling you while not being capable of grasping the simplest of concepts was not a clue to you folks we really don't care. Neither was flat-out ignoring the game, it's engines, faults, bugs and our customers concerns. Keep sending those full payments (for not even a half-hearted attempt by us), though. In fact, here's enough "credit"  to make sure you can't do anything with it.....but spend more money on our site, which we just admitted to you we have failed in keeping up for you. Thanks. Keep that money coming."

They fell too far behind the competition anymore, and the current idea behind "fixing" things is poorly thought out and executed. They bumble something THIS easy, what do you think they'll get RIGHT in the future? Get out now, use your money on something that deserves it. You have better options.

Honestly, a few of you here are professionals, right? What does this really mean:

"We’re sure you’ve noticed the lack of updates to our games, the slip in our customer support and the decrease in our participation in the forums, developer chats and elsewhere over the past 12 – 18 months.  That’s all about to change!

As most of you know, we were purchased by FOX Interactive Media back in September, 2005.  Starting in January, 2009, we also began making games for FOX Sports Interactive Media (specifically, FOXSports.com.)  While our staff size was reduced, we created a variety of interactive sports games for our parent company:  Baseball Hot Streak, Basketball Hot Streak, Football Survivor, Frank’s Picks, Tune In To Win, Fantasy Auto Racing and, most recently, Fantasy Football Commissioner.

Building these games required the majority of our resources.  As a result, our usual time, effort and dedication to WhatIfSports and each of you suffered. "

It'll happen again, folks. Do you REALLY think it won't? Look who runs things here. It isn't the WiS developers....it's Fox. Get used to it.

Okay there, Ted Kaczynski. Time to take the manifesto back to the shed in the woods of Montana.

I have to admit that $10 seems a little lame in light of their admission to neglecting their customers and their product. It's a nice gesture, but I would think a full season's credit would have been more appropriate. But I'm not  angry about it or anything, because I've still enjoyed myself.

Credits and full season credits encourage people to join new worlds for 1 season, overspend on FAs, try to win it all that season, and then bail afterwards, leaving the world in worse shape than they found it. WIS should have done nothing in this case.

Look around you, friend. Sociopaths abound. I am merely stating why it makes more sense to leave then to continue to pay money for a declining product. Especially after the developers of the product are going to have their hands tied everytime Fox Sports wants them to do something else, leaving them to ignore these games. It's not anywhere near a manifesto. Hell, it's just common business sense.

Looking into it anymore than that is what is truly frightening....

I wouldn't have called it a manifesto.  It was more like a drama queen calling attention to herself making a big noisy exit.

I beg to differ. What they should have (and easily could have) done was actually very, very simple. Leave a team of key developers behind to monitor these games. Post BEFORE abandoning the product & the customer service for "12-18 months" that things are going to be hectic for a while. Keep a few heads around that can handle the tickets appropriately. Don't let things fall so far before saying "Oops, sorry we neglected it. Here's LESS than a half-season's credit for the 12-18 months we provided you with sub-par product and service".

Curious tec, what's your problem anyways? Nothing I say is directed at you, I ignore you in general.....yet you feel a need to try and talk down on and to me like that (and also make sure to quote my posts for your pal Mike to jump in....even though he has me blocked. You two show such shameful behavior for adults). Sad, really. You have no purpose. I mean, what you say and how you treat some of the people around here is borderline sociopathic. Why bother? Aren't you here to play a game and have fun? Is ******* with people how you get your fun? You realize what they call that, right?

Edit: If it's for attention tec, why didn;t I start my own thread? Your BS assumptions don't even make sense.  Maybe it's time you thought long and hard about  how apparently distorted your perspective is (leading you to poor and false conclusions, which are mere assumptions that make you look foolish), or about how you go around the forums, getting your jollies by verbally putting others down. Either way, I'm sure you feel good about it. I'm sure it serves some purpose, or you wouldn't do it, right? Look all that up in a fancy learnin' book, and grasp what that concept is. They have a specific term for it.

Me? Playing out my seasons.......why, do you have some bone to pick too? If any of you cats wanna trade insults or anything, you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm good for a reasonable, casual debate or discussion. Won't buy into the childishness of name calling and what-have-you. If that's all you're here for, take care.

Im just wondering why you're spending so much time on a product that sucks.. Why dont you just exit the forums and ignore this ****** game?  SOMEBODY PLEASE SAY "IM COMING WITH YOU".. Maybe then he will quit his whining in the forums...
