Odd ratings progression? Topic

Max Yearwood, 24 year old MiL 3B.

During Season 3, his glove and arm accuracy didn't increase at all, then they both shot up by 6 during season 4, and neither attributed has increased at all this season.

My fielding instructors the past few seasons have been good, so I'm not sure I understand the stop in progression, then the huge jump, then the standstill again.

Any thoughts?

And yes, I'm aware he probably will never be a 3B.  He'll likely be converted to a corner OF next season.

I know that patience and discipline of coaches affects their effectiveness, although I wouldn't think that it could be that radical.

Not that I recall, no.

And his hitting stats have flowed in a natural progression. Maybe Season 3 (no increase) was actually the fluke year for some reason.

Your FI instructor sucked in season 3.  Big upgrade at FI in season 4.  That's the answer.

Wow, I didn't realize I'd ever had one that bad.

But that still doesn't answer then why he hasn't improved at all this season.  He jumps six with a guy at 81, then with a better FI at 84, he doesn't improve at all the very next season?  Doesn't seem to make sense.

I'm guessing he hit his wall.  He might be done progressing in those areas.
