"Send me a site mail if interested, and please do not respond if you're having problems winning at a high level inthis game too. I would like to find someone that has a few World Series under their belts."

Just a comment on that last statement.  World Series titles (one or many) does not necessarily equate to a strong knowledge of the game.  Sometimes owners can luck into a WS title or two because they took over a team that was already stacked to win.

Also, there are two aspects to mastering this game: (a) talent recognition, and (b) talent acquisition.

I think there are a lot of people out here who can help you with (a) who might not necessarily have a couple of WS titles on their record.  Shutting them out as a source of your knowledge might not be in your best interests.  It's (b) that can get a little dicey, as there's quite a few owners out there who may use less than scrupulous or honorable means to acquire talent, such as tanking for high draft picks, payroll tanking to sign top-rate IFA's, or flat-out n00b-raping.

On the talent acquisition thing: if it is a proposed trade, get advice from the other team's division rival. They'll let you know if it is fair!

Can someone please control my teams and get me a few rings while you're at it???
I bet you're as useless as your comment.
You've been playing for 7 years and you need a mentor?

How is he the one that is useless?

Thanks to all the folks that have offered help via this thread & site mail.

I do regret the wording in my OP...regarding WS success.

Thanks once again.

Kevin, getting a mentor is certainly a good idea.  Personally I never used one, but my mentors have been the posters in the forums in general.  I read the forums voraciously before actually getting a team.  Then I read them voraciously afterwards.  Tec says you can "luck into a good team".  That is certainly true - I did that, twice.  However, I will say that since I did not want to take on a rebuilding project as a newbie, I actually was very careful about which team(s) I selected to start with so although I was lucky, I also had the benefit of having read the forums and gotten a head start in knowledge.  So the best advice I can give is to read the forums.  When you do that, you'll start to realize who the sharp vets are.

I also noticed you joined Fingers.  That's a good world to get startedin. Dedelman's a good commish.  I spent 5 seasons in that world before I had to cut back on time.  Good luck.
