How many innings will a guy with 54 Stamina and 81 Durability be able to pitch as a LRA (roughly)?

I would guess 150+.  He's a horse.

I thought this would be "who wrote Rusty Bed Springs?"

He can throw more innings than you'll want him to.  If he's your best pitcher, he can go 3 innings every other game (240) without breaking a sweat... but I've never seen a guy with that high ST/DUR that was anything like his team's best pitcher.

Depends how good he is. If he's a top flight pitcher, 300+ innings without much trouble.

280 innings at 100%.

If his vR makes it to 70 (I think it will), I think he's a quality arm in the pen.  He's not elite, but there has to be some value in a guy that's pretty good and can eat a ton of innings keeping me in some games where the SP may have struggled.  Having him as a closer will waste too many innings.

If you use him as SuA, where he was listed when I checked his card, he can be pretty much a one-man bullpen. I don't love his second pitch or velocity, but his splits should be sufficient for consistent above-average production.

I'd try and put him in a two man rotation with a 70 pitch count.

The problem I could see him running into is that he's only got 2 pitches, so pitching for more than 2 innings at a time may become problematic.  He's definitely valuable as an innings eater, but with about 1500 innings I'm going to need in a year, I don't know that I want him pitching 1/5 of them.  I'd be happy with 150 innings out of the bullpen as a setup A available in the 5th with a pitch count around 40 and a pull rating of 3.

The more I think about it (and thank you for the responses), SuA makes more sense than LRA.  I can always move him to SuB or LRB if I get a stronger bullpen by the time he's ready, but having an idea of how best to use him will help me continue to build the pieces I need to start really competing realistically next year, but maybe as soon as this year.

This guy is similar as far as DUR/STA but not as talented as Stanley.

I had him as 2nd half of a tandem last year in HiA and he went 25-3 with 168 innings...he could have easily thrown 240.

The part about 2 pitches hurting you more the more innings you throw-- other than, "it works that way in real life," why do you think that?  Any data or sitestaff comments?

This guy is indeed very useful, but I do agree with mhulshult's sentiments that he's not quite good enough to pitch more than about 150 innings for a contender.

The only dev chat I could find referenced the fact that the more pitches a pitcher has, the harder it is for the batter to guess what's coming.  But from experience, check out this guy...Midre Eusebio.  I tried to use him as a 3-4 inning starter, but I overestimated the 30 stamina (and thus overpaid...), but he's much more effective in 2 inning stints than he was when he went 3 or 4 innings (about 40-45 pitch count).

Hmm, I've always assumed that sort of thing was due to in-game fatigue, but I could be wrong, since two-pitch pitchers are essentially always "relievers" (ie high DUR, low ST).  OP's pitcher will actually be a good test case for this.
