What exactly does the temper rating do?  Is it only whether or not the sim decides your fool is tossed from a game?  Does it affect 'clutch' performance?  Is it crap?

High temper get's tossed from more games; low temper batters get HBP a lot... other than that, I don't think there is much of an effect.

Low temper hitters tend to incur more HBP than do high temper hitters.

It seems to be the only factor where a lower rating is better.

Push/Pull, perhaps.  Especially if you've got a short porch to one side of your home field.

I never really figured out what good push/pull was, unless you had an unusual field like Fenway I guess. Do you think it is a decision maker at 90 or ay 10 in a normal park?

isn't Big Papi's power legacy partly due to the fact that he's regularly hitting balls 300-some feet into right field rather than 400-some feet to dead center, rather than just overwhelming strength?

No, boston is 302 down the line but they probably have the deepest straight away RF in the majors

He's still trying to find out how his name appeared on the PED report.  That's his power legacy.
