Insta-rebuilding a bad team: a video series!!!!!! Topic

A decent amount of people have been asking me for general HBD advice, and it's pretty hard for me to advise on a general level (i.e. "how do I become good?" is hard to answer).  So I fucked around and recorded a series of videos of myself turning around a team in Moneyball world.

First 2 videos are just me assessing the roster, which is probably boring, but I doubt that anybody else would perceive things precisely the same as I do when I take on a new team.  Next video is arb and coach re-hiring, which might have some useful tips for new players but is mostly skippable.  Then I made a couple of videos detailing my trades, and a couple detailing the FA market.  I figure that if anybody wants to know my secrets to success, they could just watch this and listen to my thought processes.  I mostly have like 20 different secrets to success instead of 1 or 2, and they all manifest when I am completely overhauling a roster.

In retrospect I probably could have been a bit more organized, but winging everything didn't go too badly.  I'm probably going to add another video or two with an overall review of the FA market in the world, and a summary view of my team + lineups + settings.

Is that your voice?  You sound like you'll bat for either team.

Should I have sent a sitemail?

Wow.  I just noticed the one I clicked was 13 minutes.   Damn, dude, that's insane.

You should spice it up a bit.   The monotone 'mo voice is sleep-inducing.  You gotta be like those dudes selling glass cleaner on the infomercials if you want people to pay attention.    This guy:

i was waiting for the now and then sheenlike ...."WINNING!!!!".

Yeah, in sum the videos are like an hour, which is longer than I would have liked.  That was part of the lack of organization.

My voice is hawt.

But, nonetheless, good attempt at "giving back" to the game.   You do know what you're doing.  I just don't think anyone is gonna spend an hour and a half to listen to you drone on and on.

I thought about this, people do similar **** for video games which are like wayy longer and they get an assload of views.

The problem is that I'm not actually doing anything other than talking and looking at player cards, but it wasn't that much effort to make and was a pretty impulsive decision so if nobody looks at them that's fine with me.  I sorta realized halfway thru that these wouldn't get a ton of views, but decided I didn't really care and would just finish what I started.

At the 42 minute mark, if you listen closely enough, you can hear the following exchange (not quite muted out enough):

"Dean, who are you talking to down in the basement?"

"Shutup mom!  I'm working on something here!!"

"MEATLOAF!!!!"

So I read this thread and say to my wife, "I can't believe this dude posted a bunch of HBD videos on Youtube.  Who would watch this stuff?".  Then of course I spent the next half hour watching them.

Well done first attempt!
