I'm not saying you soulcrushed me in either of the deals.  But I think you got more value.

i've soulcrushed a few people in MG.  but most of my trades are just me scooping up small pieces without giving back much in return.

EDIT: like this guy

whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx

solid bench player for cheap over like 4 seasons for me, i gave you a vet RP who pitched all of 11 innings for you (and got rocked, which was bad luck because he wasn't that bad).

Yeah, that was the season I lost the division by one game.   Injuries to my RP left me with a need.  Simontacchi was a utility guy.  I had plenty of them but not decent RP.    Since I failed to win the division, I feel I lost that deal.   Had I taken first with Davis pitching well, it would have been a push or a win for me.

unsurprisingly, all of my best deals are with people who eventually became casualties of the MWR.

edit: except for this one time when i plowed sick.  UNNHHHH!!!!!!!!

There's a key to trading and you have to recognize what you're doing.  Most people don't.   When you're trading with a more successful owner than you, you're probably losing the deal.   deano and I seldom trade, or even talk trade, because he tends to get what he wants while winning the deals.

He and I have made two minor deals in MG.  I'd say he won both of them.
And we're back to this.

As I said rather loudly in the WC, death had no clue that he was setting you up for the future when he made that recent trade with you.   He thought "OH, THAT GUY WILL BE MY BEST PLAYER THIS YEAR!!!" and hit accept.   So, in S4 of death's quickly ending MG career, I'll point out that trading with owners who are better than you is probably not such a good idea.

I knew what he was doing, thus the extra player.

You are one paranoid MF.

On one hand Mike is right.  When I worked as a trader on Wall St, we were pretty gung ho about not trading against orders that only smart people would submit, even if they looked good in a vaccuum.  By doing this, we avoided giving money back that we took from teh tards trading against us.

OTOH I would argue that the trade death made with me is the type of trade where you can benefit most.  I often sign more guys than I need, and really only picked him up because he's a good value.  A similar guy went for 2/26 with a 3rd year mutual option in MB.  So he got a decent value player for free so I could extend my catcher, which really doesn't affect him all that much.  It's not like I was playing for a stud IFA and got way more out of the deal than he did.  Anyway, it's better for death than it would be for my standard "I like your player better than mine, let's swap em!"

This is a dynasty game.    When a good owner offers a deal that seems too good to be true, you have to ask "Why is he doing this?"   Usually it's contract related, like your offer was, and allowing good owners cap room is usually a bad idea.   Because, eventually, they have to play you.  Season after season after season.....

Of course, the old fart death got will be gone before death misses the MWR so at least he didn't cripple the franchise for the next owner.

Sure, but if death gets 2 wins better while I get 3 wins better, is that really a bad deal for him? (FWIW the trade didn't actually help me that much, just throwing out arbitrary numbers).

Doesn't have to be a bad deal for him to be a bad deal.    I assume his goal is to win the AL.   In order to do that, he'll have to beat the guy who keeps winning the AL.   Any idea who that might be?

I thought it was cool being able to hear the inner thoughts of what you upper level owners think about when you look at your rosters and how you rate talent.  Thanks Deano, really nice 1st attempt.

Interesting.  I enjoyed the Wheeling and Dealing one....which was the only one I watched.

I want to know who the morons were that shipped you Cordero for Cromer as well as Miller AND Sardinha  for Parker.  Cordero and Miller are flat out studlyu.  MIller is an incredibly valuable reliever.

Those weren't trades.  That was Grand Theft.

I'm disappointed if you abused newbies for those trades.  I'm surprised the Miller trade wasn't vetoed.
Who the **** are you?

Do some ******* research before you run your ******* mouth.

Meh, it's not like basketball where you have no shot against a megateam.  I think from the perspective of a .500 team you just gotta improve where you can and hope to get lucky in the playoffs.

ffs every playoff series went to the decisive game for me last year and I started off 24-18 this season, with a huge % of those games coming against **** teams.  It's not like my team is invincible, we're just a little bit better than everyone else and way luckier.
