Wanted to get some feedback on how most of the owners here spend on training and medical. I've upped my budget on those this year to 20 & 19(most I could this season) and I've had more players hurt this year already(draft hasn't taken place yet) than last year. Only one of the injured player had a health rating below an 80. None were major injuries but it still seems off to me. My questions are...

1. Am I spending the proper amount(or too much for some) and it's just bad luck?

2. What health rating would you make your cutoff be on taking a player or not(+70, +80, etc.)?

Thoughts?

1.  Bad luck.  You'll have a season or three where you have no injury issues.
2.  It depends on the value of the player.   I never had him on my team but Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Bill Hall had a pretty good career despite a 5 health.

Thanks for the quick reply Mike.

BTW, I spend 20/20.  Training develops the physical skills of your players.   Medical heals the injuries.

I usually go 20/18 or so.  But I tend to only acquire high health guys and stay away from low health injury prone guys, so I could probably drop medical to 15 and be ok.

I know guys ******** and moaning about injuries is an old story and most of us are sick are hearing it.  So here's another ......

Why THIS GUY??  WHY??

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Wendell Power

How do they know how/when to screw with you?  Spent a couple of seasons rebuilding, just got my team where they can win.  Best guy in my organization.  Just turned 26 years old.  Just gave him his 1st big contract.  Locked him down for 5 years even though he was only asking for 4 years.  96 health rating!

Seriously sick of it.

15 training, 13 medical.

Doesn't exactly prevent injuries from ever happening.

I understand that.  But guess what?  Neither does 20 training, 20 medical.  Thats another thing that sucks.

Thats not even the point.  It just seems like they hit the best guys all the time and ruin them.  Also I avoid low health guys the best I can.  For what?  I have high 90's health guys get bombed just the same.  Like I said, seriously sick and tired of it.

Are you saying that you think that 20/20 should completely prevent injuries?  Does that seem realistic?

I have already had two main contributors, both with 70+ health, go down in ST. One of them went down last year.

They are both only on the 15 day DL, but I am ticked cuz i just upped my medical 4m and I have more injuries already this season than i had before the AS break last season.

Right.  Thats exactly what Im saying.  Anybody can see that.

Are you sure you aren't really MikeT23?  You both have the same way of reading into everything what helps you make a smartass comment.  Great job.

Injuries are part of the game, real and on the internet.  The guy with best training program on earth, the top medical staff and no history of injury in his ENTIRE FAMILY dating back to the 1700s are susceptible to injury.    You only remember the top players with high health because they're top players with high health.    Far more injuries happen to crappy players with low health.

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Jalal Darling

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Russell Easterly

Both are important players.  Darling has had two injuries in his career and Eastely lives on the DL.    Yet the Darling injuries seemed much worse simply because of his health rating.

You seem to be whining about players getting injured.  As if you think they shouldn't be.  Even if (or especially if) you had a 20/20 budget.

And if I were MikeT, I'd be less attractive to the ladies.
