I remember that when I was a noob, I was all in a lather to join a world from day 1.  Now that I'm a "Hall of Famer"  , I don't care so much.   I can see how a bunch of noobs can come out of the woodwork for a new world.

ummm...what if they're aliases of known tankers/team destroyers? would you care then?
That's a decent point.

I have two accounts.  I would expect that WiS knows that both of these accounts belong to the same guy, and I would hope that they wouldn't let "choogog" join the same world as shobob.  As for the known tanker/team destroyer issue, that's an issue with almost any noob.  I'm willing to roll the dice.

WIS doesn't proactively monitor that sort of thing, so unless you do something that tips people off and they investigate, they aren't going to stop you.

ouch. so this is basically a public world then? other than the 'promises' of staying for 5 seasons and not tanking? good luck

Branch Rickey rolled on Oct 23.  They had a "no noobs" rule.  They waited and waited, trying to maintain their rules and their private status.   They eventually decided to relax that rule, and one or two noobs join.  They go public and 5-6 more noobs join within two days.  Does that mean that they are aliases?
What do you think?
I think there's no incentive for anyone to create an alias to join a public world.  I admit that there is an incentive in this case.  But, the requirement was for 6, and we ended up with 7.  I can see how needing 16 or whatever it used to be would encourage aliases.  My point was to demonstrate that newbs can show up in bunches.  Just because we got a bunch of newbs in a couple of days doesn't necessarily mean that they are mostly aliases.
If you want to have two teams in one world, that's the incentive to create an alias in a public world.

If you don't think that any of the SEVEN n00bs you found in three days are aliases, good for you.

I'll repeat this just to be clear.   I don't care about Thome or it's creation.   I don't care if you have 32 or 2 return for S2.   But, as the brother of an owner who was hellbent on destroying the future of a team because he didn't like what WifS told him, you should be well-aware that all the roads in HBD aren't made of candy and cake.  Some people are ******** who don't care one iota about the other 31 owners in their world.  In fact, they might just get their jollies by attempting to wreck a team or the world.   What's a good way to do that?   Create an alias and say "Hi, I'm new.  I'd like to try this out!"   In fact, their dumbassery will likely be written off as n00b dumbassery.   The could keep up the charade for several seasons and say "Damn.  Learned something new again.  This game is hard!!!!"     Or they can load up the team of their other username using the same strategy and "give up" HBD after one season because "I just don't have time."

Maybe I'm a bit too jaded.   But you're far too naive if you believe n00bs just show up in bunches when they're needed.

All good points.  I won't dispute anything that you've said there.  As I said earlier in this thread, I used to be against the creation of new worlds.  I've changed my mind.  If Thome is run well, it'll be ok.  If not, oh well, it'll just be another tard world.  Good worlds fill.   Bad worlds sit.  Also, I figure that if WiS is going to be starting new worlds anyway, why not join one?  If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

As one that joined Thome and currently with 6 (going to 5) teams and speaking for myself as opposed to sportsboy speaking for me I WOULD NOT HAVE JOINED ANOTHER WORLD. Because of Thome I will go back to 6 teams.. Since I don't put much stock in pills and prefer thinking for myself instead of usfbully doing it for me, I joined because I am curious how new worlds develop/progress. I committed to 5 seasons and assume most others did as well, which hardly dilutes the product, and unless you are a stockholder or something similar  I'm not sure how corporate decisions/actions enter into the realm of YOUR business. Seems to me your displeasure can easily be voiced via your $24.95.
You joined because you are an average at best owner who figured, hey, maybe I will get lucky and be given a stud team, and if not I have WIFS to blame for my bad record!

It's stupid greedy thinking in RL that screws our economy, just like the HBD "economy". If there is more supply then demand, you lower supply, not increase it.

But yeah, to prove a point that there is too many worlds I should stop playing. Good logic.

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Now I'm in a whole new world with you

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath - it gets better
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be

A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me

Wow, faced with an interminable wait of three days (and counting) for WIS to get Thome World started, two people have already bailed.
1/12/2012 10:53 PM
Don't worry, I'll just create aliases to fill those spots.
