I started this thread. I'm not saying guys like matthews are All-Stars, just that he's a cheap/decent (bat) COF.
I hoped he could OPS about .800 vR over the season and I wasn't that concerned about his batting average as long as he walked a bunch and bonked some homers.
After his walk-off homer in the 12th inning in today's PM game, he's OPS-ing .795 vR. (surprisingly he's over 1.000 vL, but in only 43 AB's). He's hit 22 HR's in 301 AB's and is slugging .495. I'm pleased...or satisfied, take your pick.
I don't know if he will be my starting (vR) RF next year, but I'm pretty sure I'll keep him around.
But I understand that these type of guys are prone to ups and downs, his homer broke a 4/35 streak, with no extra-base hits.
