What should I expect in return if I was to trade this guy?  Would you consider his contract bad?

It's not what you think.  He's a 3B that should be a top 30 hitter in most worlds.   You might get 1 top 10 draftee from someone in desperate need of production from 3B(or who's willing to take his D at SS) but not 2.   I wouldn't give you that much.   Maybe a top 20 pick but I'm not big on trading a guy that I can get 11 seasons of production from for a guy that will give me 4.

My guess is that he's found that those 31 don't think he's worth a top 10 pick.

It would only take one desparate person looking for a final piece to make the deal, but they would be very desparate to sell out that much future.

Also he's only 27 and with his 95 PAT he will probably resign for 7-8M after his current contract

He'll also be 30 and will undoubtedly want 4-5 years.    The good news is he will hold his value, as a 3B, in the field.   The bad news is that his power will start to decline before that contract is up so he won't be a top 30 player.

On a note unrelated to his trade value, I would be playing that guy at CF or 2B rather than 3rd.

lol don't listen to anybody in the thread

if i was in need of a 3B, i'd insta-ship a top 10 draft pick caliber prospect for him.  i would not sell unless you had another great option at 3B

he'll be a top 30 player until he's like 34 or 35

i would definitely play him at 3B over CF or 2B.
