My 2B: http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=3470793

Through 74 games.

He has a relatively low range factor of 4.44
AL rank: 14th   with 1st being 5.2, and 15th- 4.2

5 plus plays, putting him 4th in the AL

.991 fielding which puts him in 1st in the AL, with 15th being .966

203 assists, 4th in the AL

48 double plays, 4th in the AL.
==============================

Does his low range outweigh all other factors that would seem to point towards him being a great but not elite defensive 2B.

FWIW: Because I know people will say play him at 3B, he had 6+ plays in 112 games last season at 3B, and the composition of my team this year means he needs to play 2B because my last seasons 2B with 87,78 defense had to move to CF because of a free agent defection of my former CF.

77/80 should be fine, since recs are 75/70.  Small Sample Size I guess.   Why not Silva at 2B and Pelaez at CF

Silva was last years 2B...Pelaez plays SS, with a defensive / rest setting to bring in my defensive SS with 30s on the offensive batting ratings.

Steve-- RF is dependent on a lot of extraneous factors, including your pitchers' K rates and GB rates, and the balance of LHB vs. RHB that you face.  He's got 5 + plays and no - plays; he's fine.

+1

He plays out fine at 2B.  Context really is king - in a lot of areas.  The makeup of your pitching staff.  The marginal return on defensive investment (i.e. how much do you gain with + plays versus offense given up to get it [hint:  + plays are more valuable than most owners give it credit]).

Your player would get pleny of time at 2B for most of my teams - and I'm (generally) very bullish on better defense.

You're near the bottom of the league in GB/FB.    He's going to get less opps than most.

Thanks, never thought of looking at that...very helpful...and taking that into account I am near the top in least homeruns allowed.
