Has anyone ever tracked when the regular season player ratings updates occur? I have a general idea, but not the exact number of games.

It seems to differ by player.  

In Mantle, I'm 124 games in.  I've got some players with three "Regular Season" updates, and others with four.

Yes, higher makeup players receive more frequent ratings updates.

Can't be that many more.   Like one per season.

Not sure so about that.

Some of my guys in Mantle that have only 3 updates have makeup ratings of 75 and 80, while some of my guys with 4 updates have ratings of 50 and 59.

These are guys who have been on my roster the entire season with no injuries or anything else that might trigger a ratings update.

Maybe it is a selective memory issue: I remember higher makeup guys getting more ratings updates on a couple occasional, this fits my preconceived notion regarding the merits of high makeup guys, and I move those memories to the forefront while drowning out the rest.

A quick look at my players saw that the higher makeup guys were more likely to have four updates through 126 games than were the lower makup guys (who only had three), but there were some exceptions as noted above.

So it doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule, or there is something more than just makeup in play for determining how often the updates get posted.
