These six players were Type A FA that were not bid on. All 6 signed for 1-year deals, so the draft picks I lost this year are (at least potentially) made up next season. Really, the picks are likely to improve, because unless one team signs them all like I did this season, I effectively turned my round 6 pick this season into a Supp Rd. pick and either a late Round 1 or early Round 2 pick next season.
These 6 were integral to making a winning team.
Without them, the Twins this season had very few quality innings available. With them, we won 91 games and took the division.
Virgil Morales went to TB for 2 years, $6.0M per. At the moment, the Twins pick up (right now) these two picks: Rd. 1, Pk. 38 & Rd. 3, Pk. 117.
Jamie Thompson went to SD for 1 year, $1.9M. At the moment, the Twins pick up these two picks (second one likely to change, I think): Rd. 1, Pk. 67 & Rd. 2, Pk. 92.
Vic Olmeda remains unsigned and may come back to MN on another 1-year deal.
David Espinosa went to Pit for 1 year, $3.6M. At the moment, the Twins pick up these two picks: Rd. 1, Pk. 63 & Rd. 3, Pk. 133.
Einar Duran went to Phi for 4 years, $5.8M per. At the moment, the Twins pick up these two picks: Rd. 1, Pk. 52 & Rd. 2, Pk. 102.
Clay Lee went to Was for 1 year, $3.9M. The Twins pick up this pick: Rd. 1, Pk. 64.
Now I am poor at drafting, so nothing may come of those picks, but an owner who can draft well can usually get at least ML role players in the supplemental draft, and last year's leftovers not only won the division, they also earned the franchise 5 supplemental round picks this season, plus 4 other picks.
