A little guidance please Topic

I just took over a team that has this guy in the ML  Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Lawrence Lowry  I guess it's a little too early but what can I do now without making the situation worse?

Make the situation worse how? What do you want to do with him?

If you are concerned about service time or him being called up too early, there isn't much you can do at this point but wait until the end of season. During the playoffs (anytime before the WS ends) you can demote him back to AAA, and he will not take a demotion penalty. Alternatively you can wait until after rollover and demote before the R5 roster freeze, but he will be making 343K).

Sure he'd have better results in the minors, but will he develop the same no matter what level he's at? (He'd already be good enough to start for my team.) Or does this game have a penalty for rushing him?

There has been talk of a player's development stalling if he is badly over-matched. Like a guy with all 30s jumping straight to AAA, for instance.

Otherwise conventional wisdom would say he'll actually develop MORE, as he should be under the guidance of better coaching at the ML level than he would be in the minors.

If you want to demote him, do it before spring training begins and he should not see a ratings hit.

He has an "Opening Day" line, so pretty safe to assume ST is over.

The obvious answer is "Leave him in the bigs and, if you must, demote him before ST next year."   It's not like he can't be a BL pitcher right now.

considering that he is already 23 yrs old he might get 3-4 more points he is at best a lra anyways whats the big deal?

I'd think due to the fact that he gained 2 points in VsR/VsL.and Control just from ST to OD, that he'll improve more than 3-4 more points..

Somtom is looking at a team that is horrible, wants to stay horrible for a while and build the farm system up, and does not want to burn this guy's service time. You know, the usual.

With a patience rating of 91 he will never be a free agent in his entire career unless you release him.  In my opinion a guy like that would be wasting time and development in the minors with probably lesser coaches.  Demoting him to AAA next spring might make sense (if your team isn't going to compete for the playoffs) for 20 games just to get an extra year year before arb, but anything beyond that would be a waste.

the only way he is going to be more useful then an ok lra is if he gains 10 pts on everything, which he def won't. and he ain't be a WO for sure.

Which is the more entertaining butchery of the language?
A) "more useful then an ok Ira"
B) "and he ain't be a WO for sure"

B, definitely.

Anytime anybody can work an "ain't be" into a conversation, you've got a winner.
