He's also known for often being out of position on defense in order to get a possible rebound.

Gasol isn't better than Love at this moment.

Sure he was in years past.....but not anymore.
you're wrong - Love's beautiful WIS numbers still only equated to 16 wins

This isn't true

herp de derp I'm Deano and I think 13/9 is better than 20/15!!!!
herp de berp man

Im badja and I think that 18/10 and second team all nba = 13/9 (or 20/15 on a 16 win team!)

Gasol put up 19 and 10 as a second option on a good team and plays defense. Love is all about stats, but somehow that's okay if you're white.
Yeah Love is all about his stats.

Because when you are in the middle of a 31 point 31 rebound performance you are obviously an insane ball hog when you add in 5 assists too.
his stats = how many wins?

seriously I pray that the Lakers execs are at least as smart as Darryl Morey and twice as smart as half as smart as the posters on this site

Memphis had 22 wins in Pau's last season there correct?

16-42 with Pau in 06-07.  Sometimes wins mean about as much as stats.

Pau is clearly playing at a higher level for the Lakers.

He's been 1b (and arguably was slightly better than Kobe in 2010, but we won't get into that) on back to back title teams by quite a comfortable margin over #3.  Kevin Love ain't gonna do that until he worries less about breaking rebound records and more about playing D.

true and also 50, 45, and 49 wins while he was there as the primary option, we await similar results from Love

Indeed, TBD.  Just pointing out that the rest of the team has a lot to do with records.  I like Pau as you know, more than Kobe and think he's been the MVP of the Lakers.  His playoff meltdown last year was surprising and disappointing.

Love is clearly very talented though.

So .... are the Lakers gonna do something before xmas or what?

you mean Pau had a player as good as Al Jefferson next to him when he was on the Griz? sorry

anyway, no - I dont think they will - what they clearly need to do (before burning the house down and just throwing away the next couple seasons on Howard long term) is address the gaping vaginal wound they have at the PG spot

they now have two 1sts and a trade exception and it looks like the nets may have the lead on the Howard derby so where can they all in on that? completely off my *** here but: Tony Parker?

I doubt that SAS is quite ready to blow it up, although you can probably have Parker if like Duncan has a career ending knee injury.

Mo Williams seems to be the most natural fit, as glaring as his flaws are.  Best case scenario is Andre Miller, if Denver has a disappointing season.

Edit: also the TPE can only acquire a player making up to $9M

dj Augustin? Mj likes cutting costs.

And if you get really desperate, you can probably add Ridnour or Udrih, both of whom are at least good on one end of the floor.

They'd be better off with Ridnour or Udrih
