2010-11 Player release Topic

I've been attempting to draft a team now for a few months without feeling good about the roster.  Dropping the the salaries down about 10%-15% sounds like a great idea.

Seble, will the change to defensive ratings affect teams currently in the midst of their seasons or will it only affect teams that haven't started their seasons yet?

In theory no changes are being made to the actual sim engine, so I wouldn't think it would affect current leagues.  Seble, can you clarify this for us.
changes won't be made to leagues in progress.  They never are (one exception:  when the possession penalty wasn't working... but they didn't change players, just changed the way one thing was (or wasn't in that case) working).

This will only affect newly drafted players.  The existing player records will still exist until no one is using them any more.

There won't be a salary change at this time.

So players that will be affected by the your new formula to calculate Def rating will still have the same salary?  Troy Murphy will cost 6.5 mill even though his def rating might drop from 95 to 75?

I should say that the salary formula won't change.  Salaries will change some if defensive rating changes (which it will for most players).

Thanks for clarifying everything, Seble.

and phunke1 you are hilarious with your 'irony'

Actually, no irony intended.  He answered my questions

I'm willing to accept that certain things will remain a mystery.  It's about identifying what works and what doesn't.  I'm having fun with the SIM right now, so no complaints.  If I weren't having success I might be singing a different tune.

Thanks for the response, Seble.  And thanks to Ashamael and Phunke1 for your responses as well.

I think we can at least say that the SIM has been much improved since the last change, also.
4/13/2011 12:52 PM
by the last change do you mean like 4 years ago?
4/13/2011 8:49 PM
No, I mean the salary changes made last year.  Defense actually has an impact now.  The game is definitely better.
LBJ is a "cookie cutter" but I'll take that over Peja.

There is still too little attention paid to this game.  We get a salary adjustment a year and that's it?!  It needs MANY more changes and the fact that they won't happen means we will continue to lose HOF owners.

i disagree that the salary change was good.

What don't  you like about it specifically?
