Most Sucessful HBD GM (updated) Topic

Obviously there has been a world series champions list for a long time.(however it has not been updated in a while) I was curious as to who was the most successful gm of all time, and honestly to see how I stack up against them.

obviously, it is pretty meaningless to judge based on total ws titles as some owners have played 50+ seasons, and others have played 10 or 15. of course some worlds are better than others and yada yada yada, but that is not what this thread is about.

I am going to start a list of the top gm's based on Championships per season played. its simple, take your championships and divide by seasons played. the numbers in your profile are the one that counts for this thread, just won one or whatever does not count.

also the cutoff for qualifying for this thread is ten total seasons played. I will start with mine and then adjust the order accordingly as numbers come in. I think we will stop at top 20. thank you

Of course this is a pat myself on the back thread as well as see how I stack up against others. Why then would I use a metric that excluded myself? Thats why I picked 10 seasons

I think you should start at 25 seasons. Anybody can luck into a good team. Do it over 25 seasons and in multiple leagues and you've accomplished something.

the only way to have 25 seasons is to have more than 2 active teams, and not everybody has the time or desire to have that many, but just because you have 1 or 2 teams, does not mean you are any less of a hb gm. and besides, its my thread, and i picked 10. i will add you to the list.

I'm on pace with hartjh. .094 if we're rounding.

yeah, I rounded

I don't know of anybody else with a great ratio, but sickchangeup has 11 titles in 53 seasons. I guess that's .208.

Vegas Bombers is in the .23 something range in 17 seasons. I think axtell is around .13 something in 43 seasons.

Problem is, they both just had 1 really good team and won a bunch of rings, doesn't mean they are the best GMs (although they are the 2 of the 3 best I know along with Erff).

I'm .2222 in 27 seasons as far as titles go (6 out of 27)

Won titles in 4 of the 5 worlds I've been in (GAP, Cooperstown, Field of Dreams, Moneyball, Bragging Rights).

Haven't a world yet (perhaps the thing I'm proudest of).

I'm 0 fer 25.

I think that comes out to .00000000000000000000000000000. But you can round it off to .000.

Hmmm As I so eloquently mention in Coop... I just realized that jakaitis has NEVER missed the playoffs and has only lost his division 3 times in 27 season across 5 Elite worlds.

I'm 3 for 28 giving me a .107
