Hello friends and others

After seeing a rise in the b****ing about the squeeze play I wanted to make sure that I gave ADVANCED notice to all. Until WIS fixes this and makes is a nearly as impossible to accomplish as it is in RL.......I WILL SQUEEZE!.

Now a few things...I will NEVER squeeze with 85 Willie Mcgee or Babe Ruth or Pete Rose or blah blah blah!

I WILL SQUEEZE with my pitcher (sick of it, bite me and run leagues with a DH) I Will squeeze with ANY hitter either real that hits under .250 or AAA currently hitting under said .250.

Guys and Gal, don't know about you but I HATE to lose....I will take advantage of any process to win! Also if you havent figured it out we pay for the pleasure of this game.

Just wanted to make sure anyone who plays me may see a squeeze from time to time cuz if the situation comes up i will NOT let it go by for the sake of sportsmanship or stats! I will squeeze and wether it works or not remains to be seen.

That way y'all know so you can decide to play me or not.

Well, as I have said to others...I don't pay 100% focus to every single game. So, I tend to pick and choose games when I can't give complete attention (thus putting my IF in when necessary). I have lost too many games because of this when I am doing other things here (updating draft boards, etc), helping my kids with homework, etc, or work related tasks that I can't play such owners on a regular basis if I can't give complete attention...so, that is my heads up if I don't play you. I also, usually, will never squeeze, aside from the pitcher. I hate losing on the squeeze, and as a sign of respect, won't do it to others to win a game (even with a pitcher....unless they are well known squeezers). Winning each game isn't as huge deal to me as it seems to be others....I don't mind losing, just prefer not to lose in that fashion. On my side, if it means I don't win because I don't squeeze...so be it. I don't play live to win ... I play largely because I enjoy the company and conversation, the progressives and the time away from "reality". Some nights I'd rather play a dozen games against a "good wis friend" than pay close attention to every box score.

I don't squeeze at al anymore unless it's with the pitcher. Seemed like the engine had curbed the effectiveness of it awhile ago.

It's not nearly impossible in real life... I really don't think the success rates in the sim are that far off.

Oh man ... This thread is not about boobs? ... I'm out of here! ...
P.S. Like Arvid and Habs, I seldom bunt/squeeze unless it's with the pitcher or some batter that is in a slump (e.g. under .250 as sokyanks said)

Because in over 10,000 MLB games you would see ZERO squeeze plays? No. And the reason it doesn't all that happen in the bigs NOW is because most teams generally play for the big inning. It happened very frequently in the 19th century, deadball era, and fairly often in the 1960s and early 1970s. Since all eras are represented in the sim I don't think it's at all "impure" to squeeze... I think the suicide squeeze has been fairly uncommon since the 1920s, and anyway it tends to get you out on a CS at home. But to each his own.

I sometimes squeeze if it's first and third and the pitcher is up. Only because I want to get both guys into scoring postion. Unfortunately WIS only grants complete success (both runners moving up) or complete failure, and doesn't consider the possibility of just moving the runner on first. Other than that I don't do it, and the people who use the squeeze play (absurdly successfully) with THE BASES LOADED make me want to throw my computer out the window.

Agree with dashdebater about squeeze plays been common in the 60's and 70's, an era dominated by pitching as compared to today's steroid era ...
By the way, leelci played with over 10,000 boobs? ... Did he use an abacus, a slide rule, or a calculator? ... Did little boobs count? ... He must be a math genius or a gigolo! ... I'm still under 1,000 and at my age I'm not allowed that many squeezes any more, particularly of they had boobs removed due to breast cancer (do I get any credits on that one, or perhaps silicone ones?)! ... Was that 10,000 all in one day or spread thru a few years? ... Is this in the Guiness Record book? ... He must have a pretty good allowance for breast-feeding! ...
