what happened to sable? Topic

what happened to sable? he was so into helping make this game better and after he posted the testers need post he has disappeared. you would think that with NCAA basketball just starting in real life that this would be the time for the update and a developer chat with him.

any thoughts? at least when tarek (?) was here we always had updates around this time. by the time the new enginge gets tested and released it will be after march madness and thats when HD really takes a hit player wise.

Really, I hope you're kidding.

First, my biggest hope is that seble takes as long as he needs to get things right. Rushing things is the single worst mistake he could make. And as for the comparison for TK, we got exactly zero communication from him.

I'm already Beta testing, guess they skipped over you.
I thought you were buddies with him seeing as how you are already beta testing. Way to copy my thread but in a worse way.

i actually madjs point.

i have allways wondered... and this goes back to day one (okay maybe it was day 150... but year one at least) is why they dont seem to take advantage of the natural cycles of interest in this product. maybe there are just subtle narketing stuff that is over my head, but it just seems like this would be the time of year to get all you ducks in a row and get everybody jacked up and try to really expand your userbase.... but maybe i just dont get it.

I agree with using it as marketing ole d but you need to have something worth marketing and that is what seble is working on righ tnow.

i guess that makes sense , zee.

i guess im wondering also if seble bit off more than he can chew by doing a total re-do. it seems like it has taken an insanely long time already (6-8 months i think since he started working on it? maybe thats wrong but it has to be at least 4-5. )

and so, while a total re-do may be the right hting to do, if it is taking this long (can we agree that it will be close to a year between the time seble announced his intention and when we will see it in play?) then maybe he should have tackled some minor things first.

i mean, while we grumble alot, there are still alot of folks (thousands?) who really love this game. We see where it could be improved, and we all see different little flaws (or big flaws in some cases) but therre are alot of us who really love it. Well, doesnt it follow that they could build the user base even while the game is "imperfect"?

anyways,, thats where im coming from. and i guess i really wonder if the average "newguy" will be able to tell the difference between seble new and imporved HD and the old model? I know that the vets will be able to tell the difference (for good or for bad) but im not sure how much stuff is in the rework that the average "newfella" will appreciate.

any of that make sense?

or am i stoned?

old d, the engine is the problem and until that is fixed the minor things mean nothing. Yes it is taking a while but as dalt already said seble needs to take all the time he needs to get this right.
