Which is more important at the PG, SG, SF positions? Do they have equal importance for each position; or should they be given more weight based on the position?

This may just be me, but I try to look at PER/LP/ATH/SPD... the scoring categories. Good scoring ability means I prefer BH to P, bad scoring ability means the reverse.

BH is key for slashing players.

I tend to echo what cornfused is saying...

I would base it also on what offense you are running. Motion - BH and P more weight, Triangle P more weight than BH, etc...

I have found that my best Perimeter scorers always have great handles. I just figure if a guy can dribble he can 1) create his own shot 2) drive if the initial PER look is covered.

For PG's I usually look at BH/P/SPD/PER/ATH
For SG's I usually look at PER/BH/SPD/P/ATH
For SF's it completely depends on my offensive and defensive set but in general SPD-ATH/PE-LP/BH/P

for PG I prefer passing over BH, but also want good BH. For SGs I want high BH because it helps with scoring. For my Sf it depends if he's a scorer or a role player, a role player I like the higher passing, scorer I want higher BH.

I definitely think passing is more important for PGs, although I look at BH, also. With all the pressing going on, especially at lower levels, you can never have enough passing.

What Isack said. Everyone and their grandma's team seem to run press. I try to put passing at a premium. Its always a joy to see the boxscore of my game last night, where every stat was identical, except for two.

Turnovers, i had 12 more, and FBP, 3-28. One of us ran press. Can you guess which one?

it's kind of lame how much the press is used. I wish the game was a little more diverse and made every defense a little more even based on team and situation you are playing. It really seems like the zone is just not a winning defense as a whole which is kind of sad, but as was said before everyone and their momma run the press. Almost makes me wonder how people win when they all have the same gameplan.....

Personally, I think it has a bit to do with your offensive set as well. If I'm playing a triangle I'm going to value passing for my off guys and BH for my corners. FB I'm looking for better BH's. Flex and motion, personally I like having good passers all around.

At SF I like every rating equally.

For BH/P in small players I"m different than most. If I'll be running slowdown offense I put the edge on PASS. If going uptempo I prefer BH. Since I usually run uptempo with all my teams I tend towards the better ball handlers.

I'm sure there is an important reason I do this but have no clue what it could be.

SF usually I go for the highest overall rated(Minus the Durability/Stamina/WE) player that doesn't fit better somewhere else. . or alternately, as I saw posted elsewhere. .they player that has the most of whatever I am lacking in the rest of my lineup. If I don't have rebounding posts, ideally I would want a rebounding small forward. If my starting guards aren't good perimeter shooters, ideally, I would want a SF who was, etcetera.

I'd much rather have a kid with 90 bh and 30 pa then 60 bh / 60 pa at sf.

You should learn to be much pickier about small forwards.
