Baseball Madness
Being involved in kneeneighbor's Survival League has made me realize maybe we don't take enough advantage of some of the free play we can get here on live.
This may be a bit too ambitious but I would like to see if we can get 64 owners to play a single elimination tournament based on the NCAA basketball format.
My initial idea is to have 64 teams play down to 2, with all of them being within 30 pct points of each other. The seeding would be random. I am thinking for the first one owners selecting a team with a winning pct of .520 to .550. If this catches on we could change that up and do different versions.
This is just to get a little feedback and see if the interest is out there.
I am also thinking this might be a way to get players who don't play live to at least try it out. If any positive feedback is given I would advertise in the other forums to get owners.
Let's hear what you have to say.
BASEBALL MADNESS
TOURNAMENT RULES
We will need 64 owners to play the tournament.
For the first version owners can select any team from history with a winning pct in the range of .520 to .550.
Teams are exclusive.
I will be sending out a sitemail soon to those who have signed up announcing that team selection is open. It is first come first serve for team selection.
Teams will be seeded randomly. The lower seed in each pairing is home team. (example in the #1 and #16 game #1 would be home team)
After the pairings are posted the 2 owners for each game will need to set a time to play their game. At this time no time limit is in effect for getting the game played. Hopefully everyone can get them in in a timely matter so the tourney can move along at a good pace.
Any pitcher who pitches 5 innings or more must sit out the next game. He would then be eligible to pitch the following game if your team is still alive.
This in effect allows you to use a 2 man rotation if you would like. You may use as many starters as you want-the only restriction is the 5 IP rule.
After the game is played both owners must post the results and list any of their pitchers who pitched 5 innings or more.
I will set up a new thread when the time comes for posting games.
