Recruiting Dilemma Topic

I want to go after a 550 rated freshman international player at a D2 school that will probably have a C prestige. The freshman is considered a D1 recruit, so is it possible that I could get him or should I just move along?

Overall rating doesn't matter here (ironic, I know). Does he have any stars? If so, you definitely have zero chance. If he has no stars, it's possible, you just have to call and they'll let you know if you have any chance at all. My guess is no because you have the lower prestige, but you never know.

send one call...if he snubs you then there is no chance, if you get a back-up message, he can be yours.

Thank you gentlemen.

Can't call international players, right? I'm not in recruiting right now but I thought that "language" prevented that from being an option.

C prestige doesn't help but you can get international players with it. But it will take a long while to drop to you if it happens, and as noted won't happen if he has stars.

With the exception of Canada (where you can potentially do some sort-of cheap scouting depending on the player's location) I've found that risk/reward isn't typically worth it. Often the players that slip through the cracks that you would get at a C prestige D2 school have little to offer in potential growth.

You can either call the player or the coach for internationals. Don't remember which, but either one gives you the requisite info.

You can only call the coach. I doubt that he will even be a backup option for you, but it doesn't hurt to try. I just finished recruiting in DII Crum with a B prestige and had a few internationals give me the backup message. Although the ones closer to 550 overall rating told me to get lost.

The 550 means nothing guys. Remember its all about the cores and how good he is. If he is 550 and he has 99 Durability and 90 Stamina that is basically like getting a 420 with 1 Durability and 60 Stamina which isn't that bad for a freshman as long as he can improve his stamina.

I like to do as others have instructed and subtract at least the Dur out of his overall before looking at the number.

But the 550 tells us how talented the player is! Wait... nevermind.

Its a sum of ALL of his ratings, so yes it does. His adjusteds minus WE-ST-DU would bring it down quite a bit.

I signed a 504 rated SG in div III back in the day and thought I was the shizznit. It was SG with like 40 LP and 28 BH. Good times... He had 90+ stamina/dura and 80+ WE.

Now really, probably out of range. The best odds would be if its A) a small forward and B) has udner 40 def rating and under 40 SB. If its a PF, no shot. If its a center likely no shot. If its a PG possibly. It depends on CORES - mainly def and then next depends on position.
