I've used it, but it never made any sense.

I liked it but was unrealistic so good move. Now off to all the other things

This must be the thread where you admit to not being able to win without exploiting. Did you plan on keeping a list up top kannc?

Maybe a sticky?

could someone explain how the loophole worked - especially since it is gone, it wont do any harm - but what were folks doing?

Promising recruits minutes/starts that they couldn't give them for the added recruiting bonus and then using a redshirt so the player wouldn't complain about not getting those minutes and transfer.

Also, what was being done was giving the redshirt, and even though the WE would plummet, they would then remove the redshirt at the end of the season. The WE would come back, and there would be no problems with breaking the promises. The player would only have 3 seasons after that, it was like he just sat on the bench all year.

The second part of the update aims at that loophole: "Also, redshirted players will now be included in the pool of players who may complain if they're not getting their promised minutes/starting spot."

The second part is interesting in many ways. I wonder if redshirt players will only complain if they were promised, or if this is the end of redshirting So, Jr and SR players without them complaining mid season.

On a side note, it is interesting how many are admitting to using it in both this thread and the other. Not to mention the others who brought it up a few months back plus others who just are not saying anything about it, or talked to me about it over site mails just not on the forums. Makes me wonder how many other coaches are using the little secrets I know about, but are keeping quite. I've always felt like only a select few used the same tactics I used, but this has me wondering now. Maybe I should join the same boat and keep the advantages off the forums. Seems like its fine for all the vets to use it if they keep silent about it, but its the end of the world when I use it. Not that I care either way, just figured more coaches would get 'attacked' for opening up about it the same way I did. Why nothing towards them? Just wondering. I've got my own guesses as to why, but I'd love to hear what I did was so differently then they did, aside from the fact they were not open about it and I was.

I've noticed this for a long time. When I had 2 names in the same world, it was 10 page thing of how I am a cheater. Nothing towards (al?) when he played himself in the NT. What about the coaches (gil, brian etc) who have 2, 3 or even 4 names in that world? It is funny that what some coaches do is perfectly fine, but when other coaches do the same thing/similar its not. I could go on all day with examples or me compared to someone else doing the same thing, but ya'l get the picture. Anyone care to answer?

Just to clarify. I never used the loophole, I was just explaining it from what I had read from one of furry's posts a while back.

Was not pointing out anyone in general. I have no problem with coaches trying to figure out to use gifts with no punishment. I have no problem with all the coaches admitting they used the promise loop hole (inform of redshirt, no redshirt) and just use promise to get people as back up options considering them without blowing real money. I have no problems with the coaches using the same thing I used. I have no problems with coaches having multiple names in 1 world and it seems like no coaches have a problem with this either, unless I do it. Again, I have a feeling why this is it, but I'll give coaches the benefit of the doubt and let them chime in. If you must, you can site mail it. I've just always been curious.
