Has anyone ever been screwed this bad before - with a C- prestige (Colgate), my recruiting efforts for a 3* pf from China - 4 scouting trips, 24 home visits, 20 minutes and a starting spot...total spent $39,575.

The other team (Yale) is a C prestige - their efforts (according to Yale's coach) was $23k - with 20 minutes and a starting spot.

Since when does a 1/3 letter grade equal 16k?!

Or could it have been a Yale booster that tipped the balance?

You need to stop looking at this in terms of money, that is not what decides a recruit. Isn't it very expensive to recruit internationals? (I don't know the price off the top of my head) So 16k isn't anywhere close to a good measure of the recruiting effort difference.

Other factors could include when the money was spent and when the schollie was offered.

international recruiting is fairly equal - across the board, no mileage advantage.
$700 for scouting trips
$1500 for home visits

My efforts
24 home visits x $1500 = $36000
4 scouting trips x $700 = $2800

His efforts - 23k total spent - even if it was only home visits, it would be 15 home visits.

Customer support says it was one of the closest battles they've seen (wtf else would you say to shut me up?!) and Yale is a 'Very High' C (almost a C+) - so?!
even 2/3 a letter grade shouldn't have that much affect.

I spent 170% of his efforts. Spin that anyway you want - it still smells.

I really don't see anything glaringly wrong with this. You lost a battle and yeah that sucks but it happens. so 2/3rd a letter grade is worth 10 home visits? Yeah I can buy that.

Especially when you add in the fact that both schools had offered him a start and 20 minutes, his start + 20 would be more valuable then yours.

crazy, they don't look at it as a percentage spent (or even a percentage of effort), but total effort. I'll admit, when I first saw the figures I was a little confused/surprised. But yeah, nearly 2/3 of a grade in prestige could be worth 10 home visits, that doesn't seem outlandish.

Stop, just stop. Put the friggin' cool-aid down for a second, ok.

Fine - they just lost a customer in this world - I've moved all of my seasons to Smith.
I doubt if I'll purchase more than the four I have remaining.

Once again - this reminds me of a 2nd (or 3rd) rate sci-fi movie...and these friggin' clowns found this cool game - except no one knows how it works - and they're busting their *** trying to reverse engineer it - so they can explain why this happens or not...kinda like The Greatest American Hero from the early 80's...find a cape and can't figure the $%$!#! thing out.

Anyone want a gimme next season (in Crum, D1)? Schedule Colgate - who knows, maybe I won't rescind everyone's scholarship before then...or maybe I will.

Screw it.............Cry Havoc and let slip the Colgate Boosters!

Why stop there? Why not just leave and forget about your remaining seasons? You're obviously not enjoying yourself, so why prolong the torture? It doesn't look like Occidental is doing much anyway.

How are you going to rescind anyone's scholarship without added seasons? Oh you can't.

Seriously suck it up. I lost 5 recruits 1 year in recruiting it happens, unlike you I didn't **** and moan about it (or cry for that matter). Oh and I had an A+ prestige, not a C-.
