Just my opinion but whoever is getting the catcher is winning. He is getting a player at a very valuable position who can hit and call games and he is a LOT cheaper

Additionally, player 1 is a legit 2B, but not a very good one. Player 2 is a stud PC Catcher with a bat- tough combo to beat. On the other hand, can't love that 60 Dur.

Player 1 is a fielder, with a good bat but probably a touch overpaid.

Player 2 is an excellent defensive C with a good bat at the league minimum.

It comes down really to need. If I'm starting from scratch, I take the C. If the only hole in my lineup is LF/1B/DH (probably RF too) I take the first guy.

player 2 is not an excellent defensive C.

The 60 durability kills the catcher IMHO.

He's better than at least 3/4 of what people start at catcher, and probably closer to 90%. He's not a defensive stud like some people (including myself) use as a late-inning replacement, but for a starting C his only real drawback is arm accuracy.

Player 2 is an average D at catcher, and his DU limits his ABs. But as a six-inning C with a back-up who is strong defensively, he'd be a solid addition to the lineup, and at a great price.

Player 1 is very good offensively, but I'd rather have the C and find a less expensive alternative for LF. It'd be easier to find a quality bat in LF than one behind the plate.

I'd take the first guy. The 60 durability at the catcher position will make him a platoon man. The first guy can play every day, though not at 2B where he does not belong. The first guy's also got blazing speed, not to mention he's already developed while there's no telling whether the C will reach his projections.

#2 fer sure...plus his low durability will keep his contract demands down the line much lower...i can live with low durability, if you get to the playoffs you just need him to get the rest of the way...

Not even in my book. Id rather have player A in my LF. Id only have player B on my team as a DH and C during interleague and playoffs

If you can easily absorb the 8.8 mil I would take player #1.

He's still not excellent at D.

probably above average D...but not much more than that
