Suggestion For Colonels19 Topic

Instead of spending all of your time trying to shove your rankings system down everyone's throat and arguing with everyone, why don't you show people how it works.

PROVE IT!!!

Take the time to do the rankings for HD (it would likely take less time than all of your posting). Keep a posted historical set of your rankings (updated however often you would like) and then we can all see how great your ranking system works.

EDIT: By "showing us how it works", I do not mean explain how it works. I mean give us the results and we can decide if it works.

I would be interested in this as well. Explaining your system and what composes it will do more in the way of getting it accepted than simply showing the results it spits out.

NO!!!!!! Don't ask him to explain it. We ONLY need to see the results. If it works, then maybe we can dig deeper into the explanation.

How would you define "works"? Do you mean something like seeing if it correlates well with how teams did in the NT?

As I told him in the past, this is of no interest to me. Just another ranking that means nothing. Now if he wants to give us a statistical analysis of recruits and the improvements we can expect then I am all ears. I think most of us do this in certain ways, but my approach is very crude and rudimentary. As for a team ranking... my ego does not need to be stroked.

If I could obtain all the data, I would love to...not sure entirely how possible that is though. FWIW, I have shown examples in comparison to my actual 2009 BPI-NCAAB rankings so I haven't kept people completely in the dark.

Keep a posted historical set of your rankings (updated however often you would like) and then we can all see how great your ranking system works. I would like to, not sure how feasible it is yet. Until then I urge you to follow my real 2010 NCAAB rankings as I would use the same format to rank them as HD.

EDIT: By "showing us how it works", I do not mean explain how it works. I mean give us the results and we can decide if it works. Explaining how it works gives you the gist of what happens. The results say I have a good system, I had the best ranking violation percentage of any system out there last year...not bad for doing a cbb ranking for one year.

What are you talking about? You are making no sense. I dont see how your rankings are any better than what we have. I could come up with something and say its better.

What data do you need that isn't easily available?

Ummm, the scores...and everything else on every team's schedule page. I'm not typing up 10,000+ scores, etc out of the goodness of my heart, that's ridiculous...especially when you're not getting paid and its for a game.
