Does unused money for prospects carryover in any way into the future season or is it just lost once the season ends? I typically never have any but I missed on a few IFA players towards the end of the season and now have several million and I am getting no more alerts on new IFA players. I'm guessing it is a big no but I thought I would ask the experts.

big no. it's so frustrating to have tons of cash over, but it's happened to me before (and will likely happen again this season).

Yet another good reason to budget wisely.

Thanks for the speedy response schedule1. I kind of figured that was the answer. Should we not recieve IFA alerts all the way up until the end of the regular season? The period states that it goes until 1/7/2010 but its been since Friday that I have seen one and that is rare that I go more than 2 days without an alert or two. I'm praying atleast one more decent one comes along and I can spend the remainder of my money even if I have to overpay.

not sure what you mean by this.

He means that if you know in advance that you would miss out on a few IFA's at the end of the season, you should have budgeted wisely. He forgets that only he can see into the future.

i believe IFAs stop popping up when the minor league regular seasons end.

You also believe you can fly, that you can touch the sky.

Thanks Deanrod. That would align with the emails stopping on the 1st. I know it doesn't mean others aren't getting notices Blanch13 but I was getting them on a daily basis and when it stopped I figured the scouting was done. I think the 1/7/2010 date was the end date for signing IFA players. I wouldn't say I budgeted poorly, but i definitely miss handled the amount of time I had to spend it. We had several top notch IFA in our league this season. I got a couple upper 70 guys early and was happy because I didn't overspend on either of them, but it me with an odd amount that was making me miss on the few remaining big ones that came along because people were overspending in some cases. I even transferred money and still came up short. I just held out too long for that next big catch. Live and learn. Thanks for all the replies. Good stuff.

I thought this too, until this year, when I got 3 guys that were projected 77+ in the 2 days following the end of the minor league season.

No reason to have $$ over. Since you lose the money once the season ends, if I have excess prospect $$, I go over the dozens of mediocre to lousy prospects my scouts have shown me all year. Usually there are some players that will be useable in the MiL. I use that excess $$ to sign up those guys right at the end of the season. That way my MiL teams are pretty well stocked going into the next season. Saves me time and money the next season not having to stock my MiL teams with as many FAs as I normally would. Just because you're not signing ML talent doesn't mean you should let that money go to waste.

As far as the International Free agents go....under the World Schedule it is listed when the scouting ends right?
