The lame proposed limit on prospect budget is not being implemented. Thank God.

Jesus wanted this change. He told me so at Mass yesterday.

It was the tanking whining 'tards who killed it. Thank them.

I really think if the tanking, whining tards thought about it long enough they would realize that maybe if they took some of that money and instead of using it to buy IFA's, used it to better scout players, get better coaches in the minor leagues and set a high training budget, they might actually fully develop their guys and end up with some pretty good players, all without tanking and only going after IFA's. Has anyone told those guys about this because I would hate to let them in on this secret. Can we keep it to ourselves?

It's just between you, me, and our Savior.

The "tankers" and whiners who claimed they would leave had a pitty party and told admin. Oh Well! Tim your secret is safe with us :)

Your strategy would make sense if the draft was deep enough to create parity between the haves and the have nots. Combine the shallow depth with a rash near death injuries to key prospects, then logical choice is to get a pro-ready player already stacked in ratings via IFA. The price folks are paying in the IFA point out the problems with the draft and development modeling.

Actually Ishvara was responsible for this. Although rumor has it Jesus was responsible for the blowjob so you can thank him for that.

If people are this much against it, just make it a rule in your private league. If its violated... *poof* owner is gone next season.

I agree. Tired of the whining. The way to fix it is to institute some sort of financial penalty for losing -- just like really happens. Your team sucks, your TV revenue, merchandize sales and ticket income all decline. You screw yourself. that doesn't happen in hardball. You don't have any incentive to be competive each year. If you ain't first, you're last.

Imagine if we had the revenue part of the game in HBD. Merchandise sales, Ticket sales, promotions to get fans in the park, TV contract. now that would be interesting and alot more consuming.

Two things:

1. If you take budget money away for losing and the owner dumps the team, what happens?

2. If you say "New owners get a fresh start", I say "Hello, alias!!!"

Taking budget money away is either a really bad idea or can't be enforced.

There's already a built-in penalty for losing; various discounts are automatically available to teams that make the playoffs or meet some other standards of success. You don't get those if you lose.

There's a $4 credit for finishing last in your division. There's a $1 credit for finishing third in your division.

I stands corrected. Maybe they should fix that.
1/26/2010 7:14 AM
Agree. As it is, if you're not going to make the playoffs there's more incentive to finish fourth than to finish second.
