...Potential/your assistant coach telling you to stop "spending extra time on X" attribute?

I guess I don't like it, I mean, are you really not going to get better at something the more you do/practice it? We're talking about top-tiered high school basketball players, not some 3rd grader just learning how to play the game with half-hearted interest. Realistically can't you always get better?

I can understand different players progressing at different rates...the fact that different players understand the game and are faster/better learners than others and I guess I'd like to see more of this kind of principle implemented into the game, kind of how I remember it being before Potential. Is this a seble addition?

I'd like to get others thoughts on this situation as well, so post away.

Thank you and take care.

Yeah cuz clearly practice has made shaq a better free throw shooter. No people have physical limitations and can't always get better at anything, if what you are saying is correct anyone could get as fast as bolt or as athletic as lebron and that isn't anywhere close to the truth.

I think a lot of people are in agreement that the assistant coach emails are very annoying.

If you want, you guys could stop getting 'em and I'll keep them. And my practice plans will be better than yours.

Yes I agree with that and seble has said that he would like to limit those.

there are gazzillions of threads on this, some thoughtful and worth reading

my personal take is - the messages dont bother me - I do wish that the caps were harder to hit and preceeded by a longer period in which one made really really slow improvement

I track each teams potential by copying the ratings of my players into a word doc at the start of the season - I then - manually cause I cant figure out how to pull it from HD - mark the high potential ratings with in green and the low potential in red. leaving average in black. As messages come from the assistant that the kid is capped out, I change the color of that rating to bright purple. Over the season, the coloring of the chart evolves

now and then I am too busy at the start of the season and just do it by gut - and probably create slightly suboptimal practice plans....woe is me

I've never understood why they can't just have a potential tab in the player profile. They have a set-up like what I would expect during the recruiting process but it goes away once he gets on campus. I think it would make it much easier to manage practice plans.

Mets.. We are geeks of a similar vein except I use yellow instead of red and red instead of purple...

by the way, if any of y'all who are more facile with excel and stuff can tell me how to import this stuff into a spreadsheet and somehow automatically color the boxes to match what was shown in FSS recruiting, I should be ever in your debt

I tried yellow, but it was too hard to read, and orange was too close to red for quick visual recognition......

glad to know I am not alone!

Agreed, got 7 of them this morning and its like the 4th or 5th time this season that I've gotten them and we've played 16 games. I just think its tidious nonsense to have to adjust my practice plan multiple times throughout the season...I liked just setting it at the beginning of the season and forgetting it, as I remember the old game to be.
