The following is a conversation from a coaches corner:

Coach No.1

I figure if you win, you'll still have a #1 seed. How could they take it away with that road record? Meanwhile, I figure they'll put me in a 3-4 seed right now, but a win moves me up to a #2. My point is, maybe you should just let me win.

Coach No.1 again

Well done, xxxxx. I was a little disheartened when I saw you didn't let me win, but I'll just chalk it up to you not seeing the message.

Coach No.2

GG xxxxx. You're correct I didn't see the message. If I had of course I would've let you win. Just remember that next time we face each other in the CT.

It's called collusion and only slightly less objectionable because both teams were already in the NT and didn't cause another deserving team to miss the tourney, but this shouldn't be a part of WIS.

I suppose it would only bother me if Coach 1 had won. You have no idea if Coach 2 actually would have let Coach 1 win. I wouldn't let someone win just to possibly move him up on the seed line and I think it would be moronic for anyone to do that.

This is not ok.

It's pretty clearly a joke.

i would be surprised if either coach was serious. i once got a warning for making a joke during recruiting, i think people take conference corner stuff to seriously. i mean, we all know everybody could read it. if people wanted to collude, and these are top of the world type coaches, i doubt they would be stupid enough to do it via the CC.

Exactly.

Obviously it didn't happen here, but just the appearance of impropriety is wrong.

there is no appearance of impropriety in my opinion. you should be allowed to joke with your conference mates. especially when you have been playing together for months or years.

keep in mind these are 2 of the best teams in the world (judging off your post only). that means they have probably had a heated rivalry for some time. if you've ever sniffed one of those, it would be dead obvious they were not serious. let the other guy win the CT title? are you kidding me?

Pretty obvious that the #1 team with a 29-0 record was not serious about missing the message. Sometimes I really do think they need a special text for sarcasm on this site.

Funny thing about this thread though. While searching for this conference, I saw another that had a similar coaches corner. Again, probably just a joke, but you never know.

Yea, I read that and would say with about 99% certainly it was a joke
3/22/2010 12:10 AM
Obviously a joke. However, if someone were to complain, I wouldn't be surprised if one or both coaches received a "warning."

How about this scenario:
Coach 1: Man, I really need a C but all I find are junk!

Coach 2: I just finished my recruiting and had Robert Bradley from Ohio on my backup list. His highs are in Ath, Reb, SB and lows in LP, PE, BH. He is still undecided.

Coach 1: Cool, I didnt scout ohio.

Coach 2: np. So when are you going to hook me up with your sister?

Coach 1: Not cool, man. Not cool.

This one is unclear.

What does the sister look like?
