They have given commishes three more ways to get rid of tanking or otherwise imbecilic owners, without needing a 10-day abandonment. How is that bad?

Well, folks, there's a possibility that this is my fault.

I'm attempting to have an owner removed from Cooperstown due to "lack of competitive effort" last season. He is refusing to leave. It's been going on since last Saturday. ADMIN has refused to reply to my numerous tickets and now this has been posted.

I've been content to delay rollover until MY issue was resolved. I'll be content to see how this plays out before rolling. Several owners have intimated that they will pull their teams if the owner in question is allowed to stay per these new guidelines. I'll also be pulling my team if WifS attempts to force us to roll with the owner in tow.

bad - because most private worlds have MUCH stricter rules

I can't imagine that there is one owner in a legit private world that would disagree with your stance or be ok with these new guidelines.

Hopefully WIS will realize they made a mistake (or maybe we are interpreting the rule incorrectly) and fix it. Although that will be the first sensible thing they've done since I can remember.

no, they will email the owner to let them make up an excuse.

They are removing the only power a commish really has once the season starts. Private worlds cannot enforce their rules if they get a rogue owner. No private world is safe from being 'tarded up'. Any owner can contribute to trashing a world while not breaking those 3 rules.

As I feared - so watered down that the rules are not effective. So someone can start a decent pitcher only once every 10 games, lose 119 games and nothing anyone can do about it.

There are many ways to not field a competitive team not addressed by this.
* What about putting minor leaguers on the ML roster?
* What about playing Catchers at Shortstop?
* What about starting pitchers with stamina under 10 and setting pitch counts at 160?
* What about letting relief pitchers go down to zero?
* What about keeping ML roster at 20 players?
* What about trading away your best players for crap?
* Etc.

Can we have a real rule designed to protect the integrity of the game rather than a rule to keep Customer Service from having to respond to tickets?

I don't see it that way. They are saying you can't cheat, you can't collude, you can't tank, you can't semi-abandon your team.

This is clearly in response to the multitude of well-publicized incidents recently involving tanking owners.

MikeT23 - I have also been really agitating to have an owner removed this week. We had him removed after he put his team on AI, traded away his best players, and lost 30 of 32 games, but he talked his way back in with CS. He is right back at it, doing everything imaginable to try to lose and yet CS won't do a thing - except lower the standards.

I would request that ADMIN reads Coop's chat. If the owner is allowed to stay, there are about 6-8 owners who intend to pull their team. I was going to transfer commissioner and pull mine but maybe it would be more prudent to wait this out a couple of weeks.
