Single Season Team Twist

#89877

Ever pore over a roster in the stat pages of your local team and think to yourself "Wow, if these guys had (player X) from (year X) they would be fantastic!" Then you see an old team roster here or there (be it on http://www.baseball-reference.com/ or what have you) and think, "Geez, there's alot of big names on that team!" What if you could twist the entire roster of any team, any year? That is the basic idea of this theme league. Select any team you would like, from any season and twist any player on their roster from that season. For example, say you take the 1992 Los Angeles Dodgers. Imagine this team if you could take any season of any of the studs on this roster: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/LAD/1992.shtml

RULES:

*$90 MIL CAP.

*NO WW, DH, CLONES.

*YES TRADES.

THERE ARE ALSO NO POSITIONAL REQUIRemENTS WITH THIS FEATURE EITHER, YOU COULD DRAFT 6 OUTFIELDERS IF YOU SO CHOSE. EX: I DIDN'T EVEN DRAFT A 2B FOR MY 1972 BOSTON TEAM, BUT SELECTED 3 2B VIA/AAA).

*200K PLAYERS CAN BE ANYONE BUT MUST BE JETTISONED FOR AAA BEFORE THE SEASON BEGINS.

*DUE TO THE BLACKLIST THE CAP HAS BEEN LOWERED TO MAKE MORE TEAMS SEEM REASONABLE. THE NEW AAA METHOD WILL ALSO HELP GREATLY.

I wanted to "even the playing field" if you will.

There are still a slew of teams that are real good at 100mil...but judging the past few seasons alot of guys are having a tough time finding them. Not that I blame them when you consider that there are 2000+ teams to choose from.

Lowering the cap will make the better teams have to take lesser $$$-studs that even out with the best studs on a not-as-good team. That is also why I implemented the choose your own AAA, so owners could easily fill holes in the respective choices.

The easier the team creation, the better, more attractive this league becomes in my opinion.
