Is it possible for a world commissioner to change parks?
4/20/2010 8:15 PM
The reason I ask is that it was my impression that you have to leave the world to change parks, and as commissioner I don't think I can leave the world.
4/20/2010 8:26 PM
You can. Same as you'll keep your budgets.

Any idea how to do it? I don't see a link to leave the league on the World Center page.
4/20/2010 11:55 PM
If that's not available, I don't know.

I once a POS league where I had taken over as commish and, without getting into why, Admin sitemailed me since I was still listed as the commissioner, but had the world.

I guess I never checked how to get back in..........

Send a ticket to ADMIN. They'll either do it for you or tell you how. I don't think many commissioners change cities.

Yeah, I sent a ticket yesterday. Apparently a commissioner can never leave a world unless there are no more teams in the world. This was the response from Admin:

"The commissioner of a world cannot leave a world unless there is no one else in it. To move, you're going to have to have us switch the role of commish to another user, back out and re-join, and then have us switch the role of commish back to you. If you would like to proceed, we need to know who to make commish temporarily."

Seemed more trouble than it was worth, so I am staying put.

that is silly!

"The commissioner of a world cannot leave a world unless there is no one else in it."

I find this extremely difficult to believe.

Poorly worded but you can't unreserve. Obviously, if you don't re-up, they can't force you into the world.

I was told by CS in a response to the same question that Admin frowns upon switching cities. Not just for commissioners, but for all owners.

I did it once. Had to turn over the commissionership temporarily to another owner.

What do they care? Unless the owner asks their help undertaking the switch, they shouldn't even notice.

Found the response:

Thanks for the note. We don't recommend anyone switching city's. We've never supported moving teams.
But if you want to re-locate, you'll have to back out of the world and re-enter it. This isn't supported by us because you risk losing your team if you do so and it was never meant to be used for re-locating.

Ah, so they don't want owners who backed out and lost their teams needing CS help to resolve this. Hadn't thought of that angle.
