Paying to Beta Test Topic

I am appalled that the HD community is taking these engine changes lying down. I am all for giving constructive criticism to help make the game rather than just pointing out the problems. However, these problems should have been addressed in some type of beta testing.

As has been stated before the beta test that was done was poorly run and most users stopped testing. However, now we are paying money to beta test and everyone seems to be fine with it. It is a joke that we were given a $5 credit to beta test. I can't even comprehend how much that is hourly. I'd say way below minimum wage!

And if we all just let it go, WIS has found a great way to find cheap labor!

I agree Sully. The new engine was overhyped and ineffectively tested. Seble has worked really hard to get it outand work out the kinks, but the 5 dollar credit which expires in a week is a completely bs token.

While I agree that paying to beta test is appalling, but what can they actually do? If they give you half a season, some people would **** & moan. If they give you a full season people would **** and moan.

The question should be what would be a fair compensation to beta test their new engine for them while they work things out? And even that question will have some really varied results.

You are paying to play the game they have released ... not an old game and not some game they may or may not release in the future.

The beta test world was free.

If you don't like the released game ... don't pay to play it.

If you have payed for future games, they will refund your money for unused games if you ask them to.

No one is making anyone play anything they don't want to play. Nor has anyone payed for anything in the future at all (at least not that isn't refundable).

If you don't like it, then quit.

When have they ever given money back? Anyways, thats not the point. The beta test world was a joke. Sounds like someone is on the WIS payroll.

I don't think that was the point of the original post.

But he is right in saying that all of us are paying to play "the game they have released" But although there may be tweaks to their new game, and changes, that doesn't make it right that their customers have to "pay" to Beta test their new game, and send it tickets, and suggestions, and problems with their game. That is what they get paid to do, we don't get paid anything to do that.

Yea I am in agreement if I don't like something I don't pay for it, or cancel, etc. But alot of the people playing this game enjoy it, and if there are problems with it, and changes that need to be made, we shouldn't have to pay to find them for them.

And again I will go back to my post, what is a fair compensation for that? Although I don't think they will give one, I mean just look at the ramifications their are in the knight world, although I don't have a team in that world, just reading the threads, and post. Those changes and effects were huge, and will probably have a ripple effect across all worlds.

Youre an idiot...with your "if you dont like it then dont pay to play" approach which youve said about 50 times in 3 threads. Its already paid for. If they wanna give me $59.00 back or whatever it is since I paid for the old engine or an engine that works properly and is not being used as a live beta test than youd be right. But they dont and we are stuck. So ***** we will.

And for those of you saying there is nothing they can do at this point of course there is. STOP ROLLING IT OUT TO OTHER WORLDS UNTIL ITS READY.

I know these concepts are difficult to wrap your dumb A$$ brain around while your so busy trying to be a sarcastic &^*%#

Also, all software has issues.

What kind of compensation did Microsoft give people who bought Windows Millennium?

What kind of compensation did they give because they had to release six Service Packs for WinNT or 3 Service Packs for WinXP?

Were not talking about microsoft, we are talking about WIS, if it wants to keeps its customer base, then I suggest they do a better job at making people happy, and enjoying their game right now.

Because right now there are alot of people that are definately not happy.

Legally, I think that there's a good argument that that's wrong. I contracted to play a specific game, and they changed that game without consent or a refund offer. Now maybe there is some disclosure that I consented to when opening the account or every time I pay, but I don't think such disclosure exists.

You are the one who can't wrap your brain around the situation. You did not pay for the old engine .. you paid for the "released" engine for the next X season. You can pay for games in advance if you choose. If you buy a 5 pack, X is 5 ... it can be 10. X is not tied to engine 1 or engine 2

Seriously, read what you wrote...you dont know what you are talking about.

Knight is on the old engine not the new one ... one issue has nothing to do with the other one
100% wrong... you really have no clue do you.
