What do you do? Topic

Over the last year or two, I find this site has lost it for me. Where I used to have great fun playing my Live progressive teams, win or lose, now after 4+ teams in the last 18 mths have failed miserably against lesser teams in the playoffs after 105+ win dominating regular seasons, I find I just get angrier and angrier as the trend continues and my carefully built, very talented teams get blown away by teams with half the talent. There is no fun in live play or even building my teams and planning out the future 'win' years. I used to enjoy this site and playing live games, now it feels like an unenjoyable chore.

I'm not a bad manager, my record stands for itself, so why all the bs foisted on me by this site? I don't know, but I certainly do not want to stay much longer with any of my teams or leagues, and certainly don't want to pay to get ****** off as another 'great' team sh*ts the bed.

So the question is - what does everyone else who plays progressives do if their teams repeatly don't live up to expectations and lose to lesser teams? Just say "thats baseball!" and keep playing? How do you make it fun when it's just painful and angering now? I mean, I'm ready to just leave this site behind, when I used to enjoy playing the most live games in my leagues, even when my team was rebuilding and losing 100+ games. I'm at a loss, and it keeps happening, .220 hitters continue to pummel guys like John Smoltz, Jose Rijo, etc, and I can't stand for this sh*t any more.

What do you guys do to get past this? Has anyone else felt like this before and stayed with the site?

I don't even care as much to start winning, if I could just have fun again. But getting screwed over again and again precludes any fun at the moment.

When I have been frustrated I just sign up for a few less leagues, maybe try out one of the other games. Usually when I cut back its the theme leagues not the progressives I drop.

In the mean time I found some sucsess at Hoops Dynasty and that I did not enjoy Football Dynasty.

M-man: I see you are playing in 4 leagues and your league records are: 69-81, 79-37, 34-38, and 25-18 ... Except for the first league, you ain't doing too bad ... As a matter of fact, you are doing pretty good in two of the leagues ...

But it's meaningless, because these 'good' teams repeatedly choke in the playoffs against meager teams.

Take the 25-18 team. Previous season it was 117-45. Lost in the NLCS to a 96-66 team....in 5 games. This keeps happening, and it's driving me insane.

Well that sometimes happens because the 117 win team is deep but the 96 win team has talent that doesnt have a full seasons worth of IP or Abs.

96 wins is still pretty legit. Hell I just had my best team ever get bounced in the playoffs, I think we won 112

I agree with knee, it kind of reminds me of that Arizona team that had Schilling and Johnson and no other pitching they won a world series because in a short series having 2 dominant pitcher can take you all the way, but winning 100 games is not possible. As for the .220 hitters rocking you studs I have no explanation for that, I see it all the time and wonder how that happens!!

Yes, sometimes it happens but 4 dominant teams in a row, and working on a 5th now.........That's a little much. This sh*t's depressing.

Try being a Cubs fan for 36 years... now THAT'S depressing :-))

Hang in there, bro... your luck is bound to turn...
You've got 7 Rings in the bank in less than 100 teams, that's not too shabby

In general I would say that non-progressive teams with over 100 or 105 wins tend to be too balanced in the pitching staff to win in the playoffs. As far as progressives go it can go either way. I had a team recently that won a lot of games but certainly not as many as a few other teams. I easily won the WS, losing maybe 2 playoff games. That team had a 3-man rotation, 2 guys with ERAs in the low 3s and 1 guy in the upper 5s who was 21-22. I also used 5 outfielders. In the playoffs I used only the 2 top starters and the 3 best outfielders. That made my team better than other teams even though a simple glance at the regular season win totals might have implied otherwise...

I agree with knee and dahs

moronman, if you believe the 96 win team only had approx. half the talent as your 117 win team, you're out to lunch....your 1st statement in this thread is absurd

7 championships out of 76 teams.

with 28 playoff appearances.

If I am reading the stats right it doesnt not look like you are being treated bad by Sparky.

1/4 of you playoff teams winning the title sounds at the very worse average.

Or maybe I was just lucky early and now it's balancing out.

Maybe I'm just a hothead who can't take his own medicine.

I've lost my last four live playoff series, in the first round, with the best record. ONe of those was the US Fed league, so that skews things a bit. Stuff happens man, and yes, it is depressing. I just have another beer.
