Just my opinion, of course. There are two flaws in this league, both of which skew this completely in favor of the live contigent.
The roto scoring is the obvious flaw in your league. The live players have complete control over whether players steal or not. If you're playing live, and you're up or down by 4-5 runs, just start stealing everyone, pick up bonus points for your roto points.
That is cancelled out if you put all the sim guys in one league, and all the live in another, so they aren't competing against each other. You don't mention that in the rules, though, and it doesn't make sense for a competition of sim vs live (you want both to be competing for the same titles, I would expect 2 of each in each division). Of course, that would meanthat exactly half your games would be non-live, so the 138 implies that the leagues would be separated. What's the point in that? How does that prove anything about how live vs sim match up?
Of course, the live play is open to collusion as well. Assuming that you had some live guys who were willing to agree to throw crappy pitchers at each other for some games, they could both save their top starters to go against the regular sim players. That ensures that they play each other levelly, and then they can both have better chances to beat the sim players.
And other collusion as well... If I'm playing live against someone, and I know that he has a player in 1885-1910 that he's trying to get to the top, I can tell him that I won't hold his stud on, if he doesn't hold on my stud from 2000-2010.
And, of course, live players have complete control of resting pitchers and using pitchers as PH. They can manipulate the fatigue quite nicely compared to the non-live players.
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Live play doesn't mix with regular sim play very well. The live players have too much of an advantage, and an opportunity for cheating and/or collusion. I'm not accusing any player of cheating, but i am saying that the opportunity is there.
Thanks for offering me an invite, but even for free, I'm unwilling to play when the rules are this skewed against me. You can give my spot to the waitlist.
