I can't be the only person that thinks way too many new leagues are opening up am I?

Haven't there been like 4 new leagues in the past 6 months or something? How many new leagues have opened up recently?

i totally agree. although i may be the one that opened the floodgates when i started metropolis last summer.

I feel as if every time 1 opens, another 1 opens immediately after. They just follow each other in a line. I am ok with a handful each calendar year but right now it appears to be 1-2 each month...

No they don't. They finally fixed the problem and it appears as if they are recreating it.

I'm sure they know they get a "summer bump" because school lets out(and the forums get weird). But, when school starts back up, the kids drop their teams and fall brings a million "Need 3 to start" threads.

As someone who is starting a new world we are mostly LIVE guys who want to play in the same world. It actually took over 6 months to get approved and even then they pushed out start date back because there were a few worlds with openings at the time.

Between when we asked and now I believe there has been only two other new worlds that started. I know that there are always people in the classifieds starting threads trying to get new worlds open but I wonder if they have actually contacted admin and been told of their chances of getting off the ground.

That I don't know but I do know that it appears that ever time I look in the classifieds there is a thread with 32 owners who meet the "criteria" for a new world.

There are currently 3 worlds in season 1 and none in seasons 2 or 3. Metropolis is in season 4. With your world that would make 4 worlds in season 1 all within approximately 55 days of each other. That means that 4 new worlds will have been created within the last 2 months, which actually fits in perfectly with my estimation before of 1 to 2 new worlds per month. At this rate, there will be 2 new worlds each month which means 24 per year which is a problem.

Well we have gotten our group together with out use of the HBD classifieds. I posted an add in there yesterday just so that we have people waitlisted if needed. So far we looked like we might have 2 openings but both of those spots have stayed filled.

Not many people play SIM LIVE, around 50 right now total so we are a fairly close group... as close as anonymous posters on a message board and fake baseball league can be i guess.

By those same numbers you could say that there have been 4 worlds including ours that have been started in the last year and a half.

Your right but that would be misleading. That also doesn't take away from the fact that 4 worlds will have started in the past 2 months. WIFS had a very strict "no new worlds" policy that they recently lifted when Kenny Powers was started approximately 2 months ago. They have essentially opened up Pandora's Box yet again. Since the "ban" was lifted, 4 new worlds will have started in a very short period of time which is the issue.

Then there are apparently 2 new worlds that are trying to start right now. Yours, which is Rickey, and the other which is under the thread title "New League?". This would actually make 5 new worlds then in less than a 2 month period which is an even bigger problem now. It continues to get worse.

It is also miss leading to say there will be 24 new worlds at the end of the year.

Anyway, I agree with you that if they keep up that pace it would be an issue, but at the same time having 4 new worlds is not the end of the world.
