Sorry, I just can't figure out why my team isn't winning more games... I know our Overall is pretty good, and it doesn't mean anything. But still. 4-9... Any ideas? Is my recruiting bad? gameplan? It is my only team. Central...

u need to recruit better rebounders that rating is a tad paltry.
your lineup is off.

centers, smith, dickerman
pf, dudley, simons
sf, ferriera, granado............gotta see more mins he is gonna be your best player in a few seasons
sg, albert, kersten...................and you need to recruit a lot more guards, just 3 that is not good.
pg, deloney, kersten..............set all three guards on getting tired...........and set the c, pf, sf, on fairly fresh, used the rest of the guys at depth level 3, it doesn't matter who goes behind whom.

Well you have 5 centers and 2 PFs on your team. Your ath is pretty low on average. You only have one guy with good BH on your team, and only one guy who is any kind of deep threat at all.

Hmm, yeah that all makes sense. I have been reading up a little more on these forums and find people value athleticism a lot! So I'll probably start recruiting for that more. Does athleticism matter for guards more then speed?

I'm the wrong guy to ask, but hopefully some more experienced coaches will answer that.

sp is more important for guards than ath.

any other advice anyone?  Just curious...

For PG I take speed/bh/passing. For SG I take a more blanced, but generally means lower combo of ath/speed/per/bh/passing. My bigs I take ath/reb/speed/sb and anything into def/lp/bh/passing tends to be a bonus, but nothing I look for. I like speed more into the guys who play at the PF slot more then the guys in the center slot. My SF i want ath/speed/reb and a combo of lp/per, or 1 really dominating as long as he has bh/passing to go along with it. If he has a combo of lp/per then I don't care if he has bh/passing. This tends to be the biggest key to my success. If I am low on rebounding, I get a guy who dominates at that. If I need a inside scorer this is my guy same works for if I lack Per. If you recruit ath/speed, you'll also want FT shooting. You'll be giving up some of the BBall skills, but you should make up for it with free throws and steals/lay ups.

Also, I'd switch the center for the guard. Should help a lot. Lester Albert would be a beast as a SF at the div III level I'm not sure why you are not playing him there.

go to the critical news forum and seethe guide for new coaches

Sorry, why would Lester Albert be so great at SF?

Uglies lineup would seem to be the way to go this season. With only 3 guards, I personally would have second thoughts of using Albert at SF. As posted above you need to balance your roster better in the future. Better rebounders up front and 4-5 players who can play guard. Try to avoid having to start freshmen at PG. They burn me every time. GL

He has a good combo of lp/per/reb, and above average bh/passing for a sf at the div III level. He also has the ath/speed. Pretty much everything I'd need in a sf he is average/above average at. Easy choice, IMO.

In my humble opinion, just off the top of my head: [A] You're running a flex offense with a team PE of 23, the individual highest being only 41, and only three other players in the low to mid 30's, [B] despite low overall team BH (21) and PS (28), while only three individuals having 20+ rankings in both categories, and [C] you only have 4 perimieter players on scholarship, with one of those being a SF. These could be some direct reasons why the team is averaging 14.4 turnovers, despite having eight upper-classmen and running a slowdown offense against lackluster competition.
