How does a new league startup work? I assume everyone gets random players, and there may be some inequities to start with? Should you invest in advanced scouting so you know who your prospects are? Are there free agents? Is there coach hiring?

It's like a normal new season. The differences is that you already have all your level filled, no inactive players, maybe bad contracts and no history to decide if you keep an FA or not.

The schedule is the same, and all steps are there, even the FA and Arbitration.

You will see that soon enough.

I thought that each level was filled with 25 players, and 30 for the Rookie level.

Nope.  I have 169 on my roster right now.      I made a few moves but I started with 170+.  It was closer to 30 at each level including rookie.

Was a long time for me since I started in a new world. I was on that impression.

Is a new world going to be opening up any time soon? I'm looking to add another team and wouldn't mind being in on the ground floor.

One is starting as soon as the last owner signs up.

The last owner should signup very soon.

40_dog, I can add you to my wait list if someone leave the world a mid-season or for a team in season 2.

Please do sirius. season 2 ain't season 1, but I suppose that would be ground floor enough.

Yeah I inquired about this a month ago and was told to wait until the end of August.. I wait and they let another new world get opened up. So.. I may be starting up a new world soon.... Unless admin is showing favoritism...

There are about 73 worlds trying to find 1-4 owners.   ADMIN would be stupid to allow another start-up world before next April.

1.  The summer "drifters" are gone.  
2.  Football season is starting.
3.  They've cranked up 5 new worlds in the last 90 days.

 

Not sure how others do their recruiting.. I find having a very very good blog with updates often really helps gather owners. I have between 2-4 openings on average and I find veteran replacements for the most part or I recruit Veteran players in other games to come try HBD and 95% of those guys take to this game as good as they do the others. I guess it's just a matter of how much time you put into it.
