Based on W/L totals from Round One (and using the tie-break method mentioned earlier), here is your draft order. Each side (N.L. and A.L.) of each league will have either 13 or 14 different team combos to choose from. Twelve N.L. and twelve A.L. combos will comprise each league. For example, if twelve N.L. teams are chosen in the first fourteen picks of a draft, then the last 10 picks of that draft must be A.L. teams.
The team combinations listed below were built as such: (1) I took each league’s participant in the World Series that season (yes, I know 1901, 1902, 1904 and 1994 didn’t have one); (2) I took the top two teams in “Runs Scored” for each league; and (3) I took the top two teams in “Team E.R.A.” for each league. If it ended up being five different teams, then you get five different teams to make up your roster. If you only get four teams to make up your roster with, that means that one team filled two of the criteria I used to fill a spot (i.e., top team in Runs Scored AND played in the World Series that year, etc.). If you only get three teams to make up your roster, that means that either one team filled three of the criteria, or two different teams filled two of the criteria. Yes, there are some occasions where you only get two teams to fill out your roster. That happens when one team not only makes it to the World Series, but is among the top two in that league in “Runs Scored” AND “Team E.R.A..” – plus, one other team also was in the top two of those two categories. You may think it sucks to only have two teams to make up your roster – but when that happens, those are usually two “very good” teams to use.
If your team roster is made up from five teams, you MUST have five members on your roster from each team.
If your team roster is made up from four teams, you MUST have at least six members on your roster from each team.
If your team roster is made up from three teams, you MUST have at least eight members on your roster from each team.
If your team roster is made up from two teams, you MUST have at least twelve members on your roster from each team.
WHO MOVES ON? The eight playoff teams from each league (8 x 8 = 64) will move on automatically. The final 8 spots will go to the best team (W/L) wise from each league that didn’t make the playoffs. The tie-breaker, should it need to come into play, is (1) Head-to-Head competition; and (2) Best Home W/L record.
