This is a totally open league with only one restriction.  NO CLONES.

Here is how it works.

You have a 50 Mil Cap and draft whomever you wish.  However your most expensive player needs to be one of your top two scorers (so if you are going to use the big Rodman you need to have a more expensive player above him).

As an owner in this league you will agree to double team that one player, and one player ONLY.

After the league is complete we will use the league to prove or disprove just how broken double teaming is (and when we prove it is broken I will submit the entire league as a ticket to WiS to show them an entire 82 game season of 24 teams - 1968 games - to see if this is a large enough sample to prove the faults of double teaming)

but we may want to specify usage tiers for other players so that you dont have too many high usage guys per team or something

Six of us did a similar mini-experiment a couple of years ago, and based on our experiment, DTing was completely useless.

in addition to establishing use tiers for the other players we should probably all use the same top dog and base line defensive ratings too

the felon brings up some good points... yet I really don't think I want to waste money to play in a league like that.  The original idea, however, sounds right up my alley.  I'm not committed either way at this point but am definitely interested in further discussion!

Why don't we say a player with a usage% in excess of 30...(this gives us Wilt, Jordan, LeBron, TMac, Kobe, McAdoo, Gervin, and many others)

You could say a top tier usage player (32.5%+)
That really limits who you can use, though.

30% is cool, but if you're going to do that, I'd say just go ahead and say a tier 2 usage player or higher (27.2%+).  That broadens things up a bit and keeps the same flavor.  Just a suggestion.
