I'd like to get some feedback on the issue of calling someone out in league chat, as opposed to trade chat.
I've had trades questioned (and bashed) before, often without even soliciting feedback, but lately when I've done it, I've been hammered by people for being immature and not doing it in private. Now, it could certainly be just because I'm good ol' JT, but I'd like to get some opinions. In my view, if someone makes a comment on league chat, it's fair to call them out on league chat.
Recently, one guy put up one of his pitchers for trade with a message on league chat saying the pitcher was a "solid middle of the rotation starter" and he wanted a prospect in return who projected as an ML starter. The next day, that same owner thanked everyone for the interest in his pitcher, but stated his pitcher was now apparently a "proven top of the rotation starter" and would command 1st round talent or a high-priced IFA in return.
I asked him, on league chat, how his pitcher went from being a "solid middle of the rotation starter" one day, to a "proven top of the rotation starter" the next, and got bashed by several owners for not keeping it private.
So, thoughts on when it's okay to call someone out and when it's not?
