ROUND FOUR – THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND!
Here’s how Round Four is going to be laid out:
In this Round, you’re drafting one of twenty-four groups of teams. There are 12 National League groupings and 12 American League groupings to choose from. In each period (listed below), I’ve got the four best teams from that league that played during that period (not using the same franchise twice).
Using the 1902-1911 N.L. as an example, I could have probably just used two or three Chicago Cub teams and one or two Pirate teams to make up the group – but I wanted a little bit of variety. Hence, that’s why each franchise only gets one entry per grouping.
The choices listed below are placed in the chronological order that they will be aligned in.
RULES TO REMEMBER WHEN BUILDING YOUR TEAM:
(1) You must have a minimum of six players from each of the teams in your grouping. That’s 24 spots filled. Your 25th player can also be from one of your four franchises or it may come from one of the other teams not listed (during your franchise). Again, using the 1902-1911 N.L. as an example, you may have six 1902 Pirates, six 1904 Giants, six 1906 Cubs and six 1904 Reds on your team – and you may want to add either a Phillie, Cardinal, Beaneater or Superba to your roster, or you may want to add a Cub, Giant, Pirate or Red from one of the years other than the four teams you’re already using. Remember, however – there are no clones in this round.
(2) You must have a Pitcher from each of your four initial franchise finish the season with a minimum of 150 IP’s; and
(3) You must have two Position Players from each of your four initial franchises finish the season with a minimum of 500 PA’s.
These conditions are non-negotiable and will be enforced. If your team wins 120 games but doesn’t have a pitcher or position player from each of your four initial teams finish with the minimum PA’s or IP’s, you will be disqualified from going further into the playoffs and qualifying for the Championship.
