Like the implementation, but afraid it will just lead to a lot of confusion/question for new players. Anticipate seeing a bunch of "do I have to set up player roles, what does it mean" every sign up period. Adds a nice new function for veterans. Hopefully doesn't scare away new players.

will take a lot of initial setup to get the percentages to be useful. Once mastered, could be a very hand guide, but will be large trial and error to get it to spit out what to look for. This is especially true because for most things, the ratings are interdependent. That is, Ath, Sp, BH, and Per may all impact a SG offense. Thus, still trying to figure out how it helps compare a 75/70 Ath/Sp 75/60 Per.Bh guy to say a 60/90 Aht/Sp 60/75 Per/Bh. Both may be good scorers at D3 but depending on how you set up your SG role, may only return 1 of those guys as a high hit.

It'd be useful to be able to show BOTH Total Rating AND a position role of choice on the recruit page. The Total Rating is a good shorthand for whether the player is a Juco, Transfer, or 4 year guy without having to click on everyone.

I'm I missing something or are this roles just to help us screen reciuts?

This would have been way more useful pre-potential when all you wanted in recruiting was the highest current ratings + good WE.  Don't see why I would ever use these roles in recruiting if they don't include potential.

Are player roles only for recruiting? Because i saved a player role and it only shows players who are on my roster, how do see the recruits? (Sorry, kind of hard to word the question).

Biggest waste of space/time.. This has no value since a recruit's potential is not included in the %s.  How or why is this different than knowing the attribute rating one is looking for in specific categories?  So instead of saying I need a 70/70 BH/PA we are saying the % in which we value those attributes... Again, whats the difference.. Im probably missing the entire point of this and hope that the Player Roles is a positive step but at this point I feel its something each coach did anyway when pre-recruiting or was something done when searching for recruits but only with the attributes needed.  The Player Roles feature should be under the Recruiting tab.. Not sure why its under Coaching.. Since there is no value towards game planning.. If a coach doesnt know how to recruit for each position, then how does WIS expect them to put %s in for the attributes that they need for specific players?  Good effort, but just like with New Coke, the original didnt need to be reworked.

I really disagree. This isn't a waste of time/space.  This can be used to decide which states to scout. That will be why I use it. It will just help so you don't have to go through a bunch of high durability/stamina/WE scrubs to determine which states to scout.  And the other use would be to determine which player to start at which position. EX: I set my role for the ideal SG whichever player on my team has the highest % of it gets the starting job.

You can see it for recruits (it's in one of the drop down menus).  I'm surprised that it seems like there is no way to put opposing teams players into the player roles formulas and there wasn't specific starting multipliers in the example roles to guide new coaches.  Those are really the only uses I saw for this tool without potential being included into the roles.  I made this in a few minutes and the only difference between it and player roles that I can see is that it includes a equivalency rating to go along with it (which I and assume most do in their excel formulas).

I think it is a nice tool to play around with setting depth charts, but I didn't struggle with that before. I wouldn't use this to evaluate talent because so much is based on FSS and potential.

Partially true, but I'm still rarely going to bother with a pg under 40 speed, regardless of potential.  I think it's a nice way to sort recruits where you only have to do it once, instead of having to constanty say 40spd/30def/30bh/whatever every time you search.

But how is this different from just using the attribute search bars on the recruit search page?  You can see what state players are from and can be no different..

I think this needs to come with a user guide.  I am not even sure how to use it.

By no means do I think this tool is a game-changer, but I do find it useful. More so in depth chart than in recruiting, but still. While I'm fairly confident in knowing what I'm looking for, it's nice to have a tool to double-check myself to make sure I'm not overlooking a particular player's worth.

I've played around with it a little bit and I don't see how I can use it for recruiting.  As soon as I save a Player Role and brings up my roster.....then that's it.  When I go back to Player Roles, I can't even see my roster anymore....it just sits there.
