I get it too...how do you get rid of it?  I clicked on 'ad choice' in the upper right hand corner of the box, then indicated I wanted personalized ads 'OFF', but it still appears

i thought it was just me.   arrrgh!   that thing was pissin me off.

but i finally figgered out if you refresh page the ad will chnage to some other normal sized ad.  sometimes you gotta refresh 3 or 4 times, but eventually a different ad comes up.

if you use Firefox, download the Ad Block Plus add-on and you won't see this ad, or nearly any other for that matter.

I can't read what the original post was there is an MSN ad in the way. I usually refresh the page and I get a different ad.

Glad I found this group therapy thread. That ad is infuriating.

it's a universal annoyance (kind of like that new "trending" section that ****** me off on Facebook recently...)

And it's doing it on this thread, which is kind of funny.

AdBlock extension works in Safari.

alblack56, I researched the 'ad choice' thingy and discovered that turning it off means they will not send ads targeted specifically for you. Basically they still track you and try to figure out your preferences, and will still put up ads, but with it 'off' ' , the ads will be even less useful to you.

I drilled down deep enough on google to find out who they think I am and discovered my second language is portuguese. I had a son spend some time in Brazil 10 years ago and he visited some portuguese language sites when he got back, but I don't know any portuguese. Also, they think I buy lots of women's apparel. That would be my wife. Not that there is anything wrong with cross-dressing bilingual coaches.

So, the lesson is that each poster who starts a thread should post the initial post twice - so the second one is legible and we dont need to fret with the MSN News jamming.
